    Visiting motor homes show

Off to a very bad start, after having reserved around 3 weeks before, I was kept out in the wind for around 8 minutes with a locked reception door- supposed to be manned most of the day- this was 2pm- finally let in , but no apology- also no car park- not until you read the business travellers do you see you need to book one. Was safe in the street. As we staggered in with our bags etc and headed for our room, no mention was made of the lift around the corner. It then took a turn for the better, room was great, very clean and well equipped with even a washing machine and dryer and a dish washer. Very handy to central Hamilton and a pleasant walk along the river.

    Avoid if you can

I couldnt imagine a worse business hotel experience. The interior is old and faded, including ripped curtains, the lift only goes up 2 floors and access to level 3 is via 28 steep stairs, soap etc is not replaced daily and, worst of all, the price is exorbitant-$690 for 2 nights. Youve got to be kidding me. A complete rip off.

    Great

My husband and I originally booked to stay at Quest on Ward but received an email informing us that our booking had been transferred to Quest Hamilton. Having read some of the less than complimentary reviews, we contacted the apartments directly expressing some concern. We received a very speedy response reassuring us that our apartment would be of a good standard, and it was. The building is an old heritage building and that has to be taken into account . However, it had been nicely renovated. The apartment was well equipped for self catering , there was also a washing machine and dryer and supermarkets were reasonably close by. The bed was huge and comfortable and the apartment was clean . The free WiFi was a tad irregular and it kept switching off after minimal use but the reception staff were happy to give more vouchers on request. Two issues that need to be taken into account are that the reception isnt manned 24 hours a day. Especially at weekends. So guests need to contact the establishment directly to check accessibility. Also the very limited on site parking is a stacking system. Not something that we were familiar with so we didnt use it. On street parking right by the apartments isnt easy. There is a loading bay where you can park to off load your cases plus parking meters where the first two hours are free. However, if you are willing to walk a little way, free parking is available near to Seddon Park cricket ground ( but you have to get there outside of working hours as it is very popular) otherwise you need to walk further to residential areas. None of this was an issue for us but it might be for other people. We really enjoyed staying at Quest. Hamilton city has undergone substantial improvements since we were here several years ago and is well worth visiting.

    A room with no view

We stayed at this hotel/apartments for two night stay while visiting Hamilton, first thing you should be aware of is pre-booked your parking as there is limited parking at the hotel. As a disabled guest there is one parking space available. There are no amenities at the hotel, I think they should drop the word hotel and just call it apartment accommodation which is what it is. Our room was very spacious however there was no view as can be seen from the picture attached, we kind of felt like we were in a prison cell, room No. 108.

    An okay stay

Studio Room - located in the city about a 15minute drive to the Hamilton Gardens and to the base. A lot of other stores nearby. Our room came with a king bed but we requested 2 single beds instead which we paid an extra $10 for upon arrival. Room had all kitchen appliances stove, microwave, kettle and toaster. Carpark costs $16 per night and is very limited so do pre-book if you plan to stay. After hours starts at 4pm so if you are parked on the top rail your car will be raised and kept there till working hours the next morning 8am - for this reason I parked out on street parking which is free from 8am to 8pm not a far walk to and from hotel. Room had no view. Paid a $150 bond upon arrival (hold transaction). Wifi is limited and you pay $10 for extra if you run out. Room however was comfortable and very clean. Staff member Sunny was very friendly and helpful.
