Lovely hotelJust returned from staying at this hotel for 4 days hotel has been nicely refurbished food was good gluten free food available staff were very friendly and helpfull they had everything set in place to cope with the current covid crisis, the icing on the cake for me was that being a single traveller I had a lovely double room great and didnt have to strugle with a single bed the hotel is in a lovely location

A wonderful refurbishmentI stayed here for business in December 2020, despite the covid regulations the hotel has gone out of their way to make everything as normal as possible right down to a full cooked breakfast in the morning. I had noticed that the hotel had been refurbished and wow what an amazing job they have done. As soon as you walk in everything looks 5* from the reception to the restaurant but the jewel is the bar area which looks amazing. I was allocated a room on the second floor which was spotlessly clean with a good size desk to do my work on, also superfast free wifi worked well. With staying away on business a lot I need a comfy bed to get a good nights sleep and this one was probably the best I have had, so comfy I slept like I was at home. I had room service for my evening meal which was delivered piping hot and very nice. With the location being 1 minutes walk from the cliff top I went out in the morning and the view was spectacular along the Bournemouth coastline. Overall a hotel that felt homely and the staff could not do enough for me, I will definitely be returning and have now found my new base hotel in Bournemouth.

A very unpleasant experience!This is an honest review about Mercure's customer services only. We had already booked a November stay, and did not know about the impending second lockdown, so we had to cancel, no choice. Advised that refunds can take up to thirty days - but YOU really didn't want to give this money back! And so it began, phone calls from us, unprofessional and pathetic excuses from Mercure's non existing management team. "Oh I'm sorry Chloe Rust isn't in today", furloughed, day off, something else? Reservations manager? the job title is laughable. Emails ignored, ignored etc. So we decided to use the online tool Resolver having previously done so with successful results. Guess what Mercure did - they refused to respond and ignored all Resolver's emails. Breath taking cheek and a determination to keep our money. That left civil action or our bank to recover our money. Shearings pulled this same stunt last year prior to their collapse, and we got our money back. So after two and a half months our bank recovered the money, no thanks to Mercure! Mercure management and customer services plus professionalism, as you can read, are non existent. a complete joke! a disgraceful attitude on their part. We should have better consumer protection from your kind who are using the current situation to your greedy benefit. Did you honestly think we would let you take our money, there's a word for this! Found the situation quite stressful too. Glad we didn't stay now , and having read some of your recent reviews confirms this fact. And this review will be repeated on every Hotel Feedback I subscribe to. Hope you have a extremely tough year.

Thanks for being there..I want to say a big thank you to the Queens for being open last weekend. I had a family medical emergency and got down to Bournemouth with nowhere to stay. Thanks to the reception staff who were so kind, particularly the girl who checked me in during the evening of the 28th. My room was billed on booking.com as a cosy double and it really was. Luxurious soft bedding and carpet. Something I really appreciated too was a large fully opening window! That's so appreciated now that I spend my working days behind a mask and visor. A cooked breakfast in the room! Don't expect many hotels are doing that at the moment...very impressive! Thanks again to all and good wishes for the year to come.

FabulousStayed at this hotel again after hearing it had a multimillion refurbishment and can honestly say it did not disappoint! The hotels staff have always been great and now the hotel has been modernised. The bar is a fabulous space to relax with a drink and has a gorgeous fire place. The restaurant served delicious food and we were able to use the swimming pool. It's clear the hotel have followed the covid guidelines and put social distancing in place which made us more relaxed. Would definitely recommend.
