No Quality...I, by mistake reserved a "Smoking" room when booking on line via the Choice Hotels website for my stay on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Quality Inn property located 1562 East Main Street, Woodland, CA, 95776. Upon my arrival/check-in at this hotel on Thursday, September 12th I was greeted by Jeff, an employee of the hotel. When informed by Jeff that I had reserved a "Smoking" room I requested for him, Jeff to please switch me to a "Non-Smoking" room. Jeff informed me that he could not provide me a non-smoking room for he, did not have the authority to do so. He was quick to inform me that management personnel who had the authority were on vacation and not available to accommodate my request. I informed Jeff to hold on before checking me in and, went outside to contact by phone the Choice Hotel Customer Service Department for help with this matter. I contacted a Customer Service Representative from Choice Hotel and explained/informed the representative of what had transpired and requested their help in switching my "Smoking" room to a"Non-Smoking" room. The Customer Service Representative put my call on "hold" and contacted Jeff, the employee at this Quality Inn in question. The Choice Hotel Customer Service Representative was informed by Jeff that he, would not be able to switch my room to a "Non-Smoking". Note, that the Customer Service Representative, Jeff - the employee at the Quality Inn and the Choice Hotel's website reflected that "Non-Smoking" rooms were still available. I am most perplexed and disappointed that Management within this particular hotel does not extend their employees the authority to accommodate a request that could have been fulfilled. In fact, during my arrival an individual had walked in and questioned Jeff if there were any rooms available. Jeff informed the potential customer, "Yes" we have rooms and accommodated the walk-in customer with a "Non-Smoking" room with a Queen bed. Amazing to see and experience first hand on how a walk-in customer can obtained a "Non-Smoking" room and, a how a hotel employee was not able to accommodate Choice Member's request who had a reservation. Understanding that I was beyond the 24 hour cancellation rule, I reluctantly spent the night in the "Smoking" room. For me, the smoke stinch was too much for me. I attempted to sleep with a "mask" over my nose and mouth however, was not able to get comfortable. I departed the hotel at 3:45 am and went and sat at the airport until the departure of my flight at 6:04 am. It is my intent and objective not to utilize this hotel location again on future business/personnel travel.

No elevator and property needs an upgradeWe stayed here the evening before our flight the next day. An "airport hotel" should offer an elevator! We had to lug our bags up steep stairs and back down the next morning. Our non-smoking rooms were clean. Breakfast featured waffles, eggs, pork sausage, bagels and muffins. There is a Denny's restaurant adjacent to hotel. This property needs an upgrade including an ADA-approved elevator.

Do not stay hereMy husband made a reservation online without noticing it is a smoking room. Upon entering the room we immediately reported to the staff that we do not want a smoking room. The response was that we booked the room online therefore he can't/won't change it for us. Not until we called Quality Inn customer service, he contacted his manager and then charged a $50 change fee for switching from a queen size to a non-smoking King size room. The staff's attitude was rude and the hotel's policy is unaccommodating.

Avoid this hotel at all cost.Do not book hotels through Choice hotelYou don't find there Customer care, customer service, customer friendly, what you there find smelly rooms, filthy facilities, unfriendly staff. They room they put you in you have to accept it or walk out. Thin walls you will hear you neighbors snoring. My check in was a nightmare so the room. Think twice before you book this hotel. My room smelt so bad that I left the hotel after 10 minutes and moved to another hotel. Despite of many available rooms the hotel manager refused to change my room. The choice hotel is a scam. If you call for help your call will end up in El Salvador.

Scam artistsWhen we arrived they had two reservations one with them directly abd one with bookings.com we Were then told that we were going to be charged in $80 nose show fee for the booking.com reservation because we already paid for the room through them and they couldn't cancel the bookings.com at this point. My boyfriend asked her to use the bookings.com and cancel the one we made directly with them. She said she could not do it and passed it off to bookings.com who we called and they said, no we have to straighten it out with the office manager at the hotel. We then went back to the office manager who then passed the buck onto corporate Choice Hotel customer service, but they told us it's up to the manager to make that determination. We then called back the manager and we're told that there was no way they could resolve this that we had to pay the fee because we didn't show up for our bookings.com reservation. When we originally maybe bookings.com reservation. Our card was declined. We called the hotel to make it directly and asked specifically are there any reservations pending with you from bookings.com for our stay? They assured us that we had no other reservations. We then proceeded to make the reservation with them directly and when we showed up this was the treatment we received from Quality Inn. We have not been able to resolve this the receptionist at the hotel made that choice so that they could charge us an $80 No show fee. It was a manipulation by Quality Hotel to make money. We were there the night before we showed up for our reservation. There was not a no-show. We were standing in the lobby. We asked them to use the booking.com reservation and she refused They created a situation so that they could charge us a no-show. I would highly recommend to anyone read the reviews about this hotel before you book a reservation. You will see over and over again scam artist damn scammers.
