Would stay here again- but no poolWe were really disappointed to check in and discover there was no indoor pool. Not the hotels fault- the TripAdvisor data needs updated. We got a suite- 2 rooms, 2 bath (2 queen beds and sleeper sofa) for less than $100. The room was clean, the linens were fresh. It was quiet (well, except for my three kids). There was a fridge and microwave. The staff were friendly and courteous. The decor is a bit outdated, but it wasnt a concern. In the living room space, the heater/air was either on or off- the thermostat didnt seem to be functioning. We just set the temp to room what the kids wanted, sort of cool, and let it go. We didnt make it down for breakfast in time, but wish we had. Now were headed out looking for food!

Just EnoughA few friends and I flew into Chicago to attend a High School graduation. The father of the graduate had no idea that we were coming, it was suppose to be a surprise. Well, to say the least, we were the ones who got surprised. The ride from the airport to the home took almost three hours of driving through downtown Chicago, and as if that were not enough, the drive from Chicago Heights to Matteson took another hour and a half. With the 3 1/2 hrs. plane ride, and the nearly 5hrs. drive we were totally tired, and needed to rest. The Quality Inn was "just enough" for us to lay our heads, rest our tired bodies and, look forward to the rest of the trip. It's an average hotel, clean room space with standard amenities (tv, micro wave oven, coffee maker, refrigerator, telephone etc.) During the three nights there were always sufficient towels, clean sheets, and a hot breakfast each morning. There is a small shopping plaza nearby, and a Walmart not too far away. All in all, it was not a bad place, just too far from our activities.

Dirty Room and Rude ManagerI stayed here with my family. I had a double room. Upon entering, the bathroom light was blown and there was food pieces between the bed and dresser. Maintenance fix the light and I didn't complain because the beds seem clean. During the 3 night stay in this room, I had to get all 3 keys reset, twice. We switched rooms for the next 3 nights of the stay. This was a double suite. It was literally two regular rooms put together, with a door in between the two. There were no knobs on the door. So you couldn't close the door completely to separate the two rooms. the living room was big for the amount of furniture. And there was two full baths in the suite. the refrigerator and microwave was in the bedroom and would have better suited the living room. The bathroom door in the bedroom. My son's tablet was left in the first room we were in. I noticed that my mom hadn't packed it when we switched rooms about 6 hours later. I immediately went to the front desk. I informed the desk clerk that my son's tablet was left. She called housekeeping and spoke to the person who cleaned the room. She asked if they had seen it, then after talking a bit, she told the person that I was in the lobby. She told me that the had it and would return in a few minutes. I waited at least 30 minutes. No tablet. I finally am able to talk to the manager and he tells me that my tablet was placed in a safe place. I told him that it was not a safe place, because the tablet should have been left at the front desk and we should have been contacted, especially because we were still in the hotel. The manager told me "well we are not responsible for what you leave, you forgot it". So I felt as if the were trying to steal my item. THEY DO NOT PUT THEIR CUSTOMERS FIRST!!

overnight after a concertVery clean, comfortable, quiet room with excellent coffee in the morning! Friendly and helpful front desk staff. We had attended a concert at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater and needed a good night sleep afterwards. This hotel was perfect!

WANTED TO RATE IT HIGHERLet me start by saying I'm a fan of the Choice Hotel brands and generally will not hesitate to stay at one of their properties unless there is a LOT of negative reviews outnumbering the positive ones. As retirees that love to travel my wife and I now have the time to travel more and as the one who plans those travels I write and read a lot of reviews. Two things during our visit were significant enough for me to mention and keep me from giving this property 4 stars. First - the food. My wife wanted to buy a bottled water from the vending machine so I went down with her and while there purchased a candy bar. After one bite I realized it had to have been about a year beyond its expiration date and just threw it away. The next morning I went down for the continental breakfast. The juice tasted like water but even worse I decided to get a cup of coffee and when I went to open the small french vanilla cream cup it was so old that it had turned solid. After opening two more with the same results I just gave up. But the real reason for this 1-star rating instead of 4-star is Kim at the Front Desk. My family members from several states booked several rooms here while attending a funeral for a dear Aunt. When I went to the business office to check in to my return flight back to Atlanta there was no where on the format on the screen to put in the code that Kim had told me to use. She didn't want to get out of her chair and walk the 25 feet to assist me but after telling her several times the format she was telling about wasn't coming up she reluctantly came over, saw that what I told her was in fact accurate and after several clicks was able to bring the format up. She almost made me feel guilty for asking her assistance. But that's not even our familie's worst encounter with her. My brother from Michigan also came down to check-in online and started his car remotely so that it would be warm for our 85 year old Mother. When it became time for us to load into our cars to meet at the family house and proceed to the church he couldn't find his key fob. He called the hotel and explained to Kim(I listened to the call) that it must be either at the front counter or at the computer he used. She just looked at the front counter in front of her and said it wasn't there. When we drove back to the hotel it was right at the computer desk where he left it. He said to Kim "It was right here at the computer desk." She briefly stopped a conversation she was having with another worker and said "you said look at the front counter" then turned away and resumed her conversation.
