  Perfect Weekend Getaway

  I want to start off by saying thank you to all the Highlander staff who showed high levels of hospitality throughout my entire stay. Every member of their team was welcoming and accommodating, and truly made you feel at home. When you first walk into the hotel you can see all the effort that has gone into the Highlander. The bar area was fantastic and served incredible drinks. The record lending library is one of the most unique features I have ever seen in a hotel; I spent close to 20 minutes just flipping through their titles! The snack shack by the pool offered great coffee and had a delicious mango salsa. Speaking of the pool, the Highlander does a great job at keeping it clean and safe to use, which has been at the forefront of every travelers mind this past year. To cap it off, the rooms were very cozy and comfortable which provided a great sleep. Overall, this hotel is the perfect getaway. Close to Iowa City and Coralville, your options as a guest are endless. I would recommend this amazing hotel to anyone I meet. Thank you, Highlander!

  Unique Experience

  The experience here is like no chain hotel. It has been renovated with great thought and an eye towards being unique. We stayed as a family to visit my son who attends the University of Iowa. Our kids said it felt like a resort. The pool area is fun and we loved that our room opened right up to the pool area for easy access. The snack shack was fun and convenient. The decor is well done, with plenty of areas to gather. The beds were comfy (and Ive never said that about a hotel bed!) and rooms were clean. We had a record player in our room and borrowed some hair band records from the vinyl library. But the greatest part of our stay was the incredible customer service and attentive staff. They texted prior to our arrival, and several times during our stay to be sure everything was going well and we were happy. Such great personal service! We chatted with some of the staff and they shared their plans for continued renovation which will push them over the top. Great staff and stay!

  This was our first time here and had a great experience! The rooms were super clean and even had sanitizer for us to use in the room! Every single person that we encounter was super nice! We have already planned another trip with our extended family!

  Wonderful Stay

  Adam and his staff were excellent and provided a welcoming atmosphere. I loved the modern feel to the hotel. It felt like home away from home.If I'm ever in Iowa City again, we will definitely stay there again.

  The New and GREATLY improved Highlander Hotel

  If you are a long time Iowa City resident, the Highlander Hotel has been around for decades. The newly renovated space is a MUST SEE and FEEL experience. The staff hospitality is by far unmatched by any hotel in the area and guests will not be disappointed. I highly recommend to anyone needing an overnight stay in the area, birthday parties, weddings, banquets or any other hotel event.
