Just a quick stop for sleep

Checked in at 9:45 pm, looking forward to a hot tub, after driving all day. Nope, Pool and hot tub shut down at 10:00 pm. What? couldn't be open for an extra hour? Comfortable room, and bed, also a very good breakfast in the am was included.

Summary: It's obvious the hotel is struggling to keep their doors open.

Summary: It's quite obvious that the hotel is struggling to keep its doors open due to the poor communication and poor standards. The hotel is more expensive than better options, and is anything but quality. First, the pros: Nice (but ineffective) staff Good breakfast The cons: Fitness center and pool was closed, and Frankly, looked dissapointing The place has plenty of damage that is not repaired and is not cleaned properly. Stains on bedsheets, dirty microwaves and fridges, every single door on the 2nd floor is scratched awfully, A/C is either loud or ineffective The bed was OKAY but the pillows were quite poor and inconsistent The staff, though nice, are not helpful and do not communicate The extra reasons why I voted this from a 2-star to a 1-star: I walked in after purchasing 3 nights and found a hand towel had fallen into the toilet and been clogged. It was not simply floating, but rather clogged in the bottom. so it was clearly there from the last person in the room. I asked for this to be fixed at approx 6 Pm on day 1 and it was not for that day. I asked for it to be fixed at approx 6am on day 2 (12 hours of an unusable toilet) and it was not yet. I mentioned I would be back at 9:30 PM on day 2 and asked for it to be removed by then - it still was not (28 hours of no usable toilet). I went down to ask for a glove to unclog it myself -- the staff, while empathetic, did not know where simple gloves were, for me to fix my own toilet after giving them a 28 hour notice. I, after paying $300+ for 3 nights, offered to put my hand in the toilet to fix problems they had time and notice to do, and did not have the opportunity due to lack of knowledge in the start. Furthermore, The a/c in my room was also incredibly loud and there were two patrons in the hotel whom smoked weed in their rooms (the smell leeched into the hall way) Their solution was to give me a different room, meaning I had to pack up my hundred+ pounds of gear and transport it to another room to unpack. The room was actually a downgrade, not an upgrade or same style room. The a/c in the new room did not work well at all, though the noise was at normal levels. I, unfortunately, still have two nights left in this hotel and am frequently in Yorkton for business. I will likely never stay in the "quality" Inn again, even with a discount or upgrade, nor will my organization, as there are multiple problems that had simple solutions and plenty of time. This is coupled with the fact that other hotels in the area are much much newer while also being cheaper and better quality. Frankly, the only saving grace for the hotel is the breakfast, at which I had to swap the coffee brews as no staff were managing it for the 45min+ I sat in there.

18 day driving trip from Niagara, On, - Athabaska, Sask, then BC,

Bag breakfast was the norm. No pool , no Sauna, we had fun anyway. The staff were very good at all levels. We enjoyed our stay at York , Rooms very nice and very clean. C-19 rules where well delivered at the Quality Inn.

    Great Service!!!

This lady in the front desk is heaven sent! Thank you Charity (Hope I got your name right) for being so helpful and understanding. I've been calling and needing help with a group reservation but she's the only one who resolved it. Such care and quick in resolving issues. Made our lives so much easier!

    Zero Customer Service skills

I was barely greeted upon arrival. I asked if the front desk was able to store a plant I was traveling with so it didn't freeze in the car and the gentleman named Steven at the front desk was very rude and refused. I imagined that like most hotels they have a place to store luggage if guests need, but I guess that was not a possible place to put it. The last 5 hotels I've stayed at on my move across Canada have been more than willing to accommodate. I don't ask for much. It's just a little heavy to carry up to my room. I have been driving for 4000km so also asked if it was possible to stay an extra 15min in the pool. I've been really stressed and sore and that was really all I needed but I got a sharp "no closes at 10" very rudely. There was no one in there and likely wasn't all day.i do understand if that is policy but have a little respect for guests. Most people staying in hotels would much rather be somewhere with their loved ones instead so maybe show a tad bit of kindness in the way you speak to them. Steven could really afford to work on his customer service skills. I thought that was required for a job like this. You don't know what people deal with before they walk through your doors so being rude and dismissive really dictares not only their experience at your establishment but their night too. Just because he is miserable this evening, doesn't mean he need to make paying guests miserable. Worst front desk experience I've had in a long time.
