  Not The Best

  We went on a random road trip which landed us in Valentine NE. This hotel/casino is just past the NE border in South Dakota. We were late booking a hotel so everything was booked within a 45 mile radius of Valentine, except this hotel. So we didnt have a ton of options, we were tired and didnt feel safe sleeping in the car. The lady assured us the rooms were clean and bug free. They may have been bug free but they were far from clean. To start the hotel itself has water stains running down stairwells, walls and the ceiling. Also, some rooms are smoking rooms and its attached to the casino so the hotel and our room smelled Smokey and musty. The first thing we did, because the room looked questionable was checked for bed bugs. The beds seemed fine. However we noticed under the beds, the floors and under tables were not cleaned at all. On the floor near the bed were orange peels and Cheetos and in the bathroom there were scraps of paper and a hair barrette that were not mine or my fiancés. It was obvious the care for the rooms cleanliness was lacking. Moving on from cleaning the WiFi and cable didnt work. The hot tub was being cleaned and the pool was so murky and small we didnt even bother. The customer service seemed fine at first but after you paid that went away. The gal working the front desk was on a personal cell phone call while a line grew waiting for her. We both said it seemed like the be right back sign that sat on the desk when she was gone was more like a permanent fixture. Long story short, we set an alarm for bright and early, skipped the continental breakfast and got the heck out of there. We felt so dirty we checked and rechecked our luggage and clothes for bugs. Would I stay there again, no. We would rather sleep in the car. Advice, book at a better hotel way in advance. Valentine in the summer is busy due to people enjoy float trips down the river.

  Vacation

  A great stopping place on your way to the Black Hills. We were riding our motorcycle and it was a excellent midway stopping point on our way for the Sturgis motorcycle Rally. Since we were on the motorcyle and it was during they the Rally time, they gave a really nice T-Shirt, extra play money since it was connected to a casino.

  Came for the fair

  We loved our stay at the rosebud casino! The rooms were clean and comfortable! The casino was very nice with slots and tables! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating to is and our families! The Buffett restaurant was under construction, so the hotel made up by providing free food such as pizza and subs and there was plenty of it! This was wonderful and unexpected! I would stay again while on Rosebud

  just reviewing the casino and snack shop

  The casino took $11 from me in 2 minutes but I figure that's ok. We ate a combo plate at the snack shop which was good but the service was kind of slow. I doubt that I will ever return to this little casino.

  BEWARE

  BEWARE!!!! I stayed the 7/24/20 & 7/25/20. I booked 4 rooms. My mother in law arrived first and checked in and got all 4 keys. 2 out of the 4 rooms were already occupied!!! They gave us keys to already OCCUPIED rooms.!!! So we take the keys and go back to the front desk and tell them these rooms already have ppl in them. And there is a man upfront complaining his room keys don't work anymore and guess what? Its the man who's rooms we just walked in too. Haha OMG! So after about a half an hour of the hotel thing to figure out how this happened and getting us new rooms, we get to our room. OLD, GROSS, PEELING WALLPAPER, HAIR IN THE SHOWER, can't figure out how to use to work the TV (had to reboot the router to get it to work), one of the rooms shower curtain was broken. Next day, we're at the casino. We see they have liquor in the back of the concession stand. We ask for a mixed drink. They say they aren't serving any alcohol at this time. Ok no problem we'll drink our own beer outside, like we did the night before. We're drinking outside, it's about 9 pm, just chatting. Then a man in a suit comes out. Says this is a dry reservation and we need to put all our alcohol in our car. We ask can we drink in our rooms then? The man says NO! If you want to drink go to Valentine. Then escorts us to our vehicles to watch us put our coolers in the vehicles. I have no problem with dry reservations, but why do they have liquor bottles in the concession stand? And, it would have been nice to know about this inconvenience when I booked this hotel. 2 days after leaving, I check the bank statement. There is a $50 extra charge from the hotel. I call, they say your room was messy, and if it take more then 30 mins to clean a room they can't book that room for that night so they charge $50. I ask what room number did I have. They tell me the wrong number. It was a room number of someone in my party. But they charged my card and not theirs. I said can you provide pictures? She said yes we'll send them to you. Its been awhile and I am sure I'll never see those pictures. I have NEVER written a review in my life, but this hotel was HORRIBLE!
