No hot tub & Out datedThe bed is reasonable but the room and decor is dated. It was OK, but not worth repeating for very basic accommodations. I was disappointed and almost just moved to another hotel. However, we were skiing and tired so we just sucked it up and slept there. Learn from my mistake.

Good StayWe stayed during part of a 3 week road trip. The hotel was conveniently located for walking to downtown and the rooms were clean and comfortable. It is a basic hotel but suited our needs just fine and Id stay again!

Over Priced and Overdue for Update$148 per night to stay in an old, smelly, dark, cold room with a homeless person hanging out at the bottom of the stairs. When we first pulled up to the hotel, we thought it was an old, abandoned building. The front door was missing the locks and there was no signage indicating it was even a hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. When we walked up to our second floor hallway (there is no elevator) we were expecting to see little Danny from The Shinning come rolling towards us on his tricycle... The room had a nice comfortable King bed and the bathroom was updated. The rest of the room (couch, carpeting, drapes) was so old and nasty, we didn't want to touch anything. The heater would blow hot air but after about 10 minutes, it would start blowing cold air. We had to get up every time to manually shut it off. The Wi-Fi was good. The Continental breakfast was a choice of 2 different kinds of pre-wrapped pastries. The coffee was good.

A bit dated, need to check prices online and specialsHighlights: Check-in was busy but the lady did a great job of letting people know she was getting to them. She inadvertently charged us a pet deposit although we had specified "no pets" in both our rooms. She was quick to catch it and rectify it. The room in the "annex" that we got next to the main building is "ok". It had a mini fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable. We had very noisy neighbors upstairs and had to go to the front desk many times. Behind the hotel you have hiking snowshoeing and living but do not just stay on the hill right behind the hotel go all the way up and enjoy the view of the mountains and city. Lowlights: It was our second time there. Now, it is a bit run down now. Pictures on the Tripadvisor website are from a while back, it looks like. Half of the guests in the "annex" did not wear masks and were hanging out in the long corridor inside. Tips: - Get a room upstairs and avoid getting one on the 1st/ground floor. The floors creek and upstairs neighbors a very noisy (there is not much noise insulation in the floors/ceilings). - Make sure you check their specials, especially if you are a member of their club. We had to make 2 separate reservations to get the prices until the end of the year (their special) and save over $400. Even calling the hotel was useless after making the initial reservation, they would not give us the lower price for 5 days! - Make sure you look at the room before you get your key. The "annex" had a bunch of pets and people were rowdy.

Friendly hotel in an excellent locationWe stayed here last weekend for a ski, soak and dog sledding adventure. We love the location of this hotel, just steps from multiple hot springs. The staff is always very welcoming and genuine, and Orla is a great hostess! She was a scheduling anyone who wanted to use the pool for their own time so to maintain social distancing, and went out of her way to make sure we got a turn. I noticed some reviews complain about a lack of hot tub so would just like to mention again for those who havent been to Pagosa before that there are 2 soaking resorts and several natural hot springs literally steps away. In normal times they have a great breakfast including an omelette station in the cute little adjoining bar, where we also usually enjoy beverages in the evening. Unfortunately the bar is closed due to the pandemic, but, just know that it exists if we ever get back to normal. The hill directly behind the hotel is the best sunset spot in downtown Pagosa, and there are a ton of yummy restaurants within easy walking from the hotel. The whole place was kept very clean. Love the cozy sitting area to the side of the lobby in the evening.
