Not a couples retreatThis is a hotel that needs a serious facelift . It is an ok place for families with kids who want to spend their time in the water park but for a couple who just want to chill it is the wrong choice. The walking distance to Langesund is about 20 minutes. Lastly the noise from the seagulls at night can be pretty annoying and loud.

Awesome family Hotel. Food - However...The Hotel should easily earn 4+ grading. However a few kinks makes the "all over experience" an average 3. The hotel is really nice. Rooms are clean, spacious and though quite modest... still elegant. Staff is really accommodating, friendly and serviceminded. The swimming area is really well suited for both children and adults. The "Spa area" is not up to "par" though. I really like, however, how all rules and regulations are children friendly. Hotel is really well suited for families with children and it gives a real "resort" feeling. However... as it comes to breakfast there are a few "kinks". Obviously there are some "Corona measures"... but they seem quite futile as they tend to gather more people in stead of dispersing them. Also I question the logic where the "Ham-tray fork" is quite safe for everyone to share... whilst croissants and eggs must be served by a chef (Creating lo g lines). Bread is also safe for everyone to touch the same grip... and the breadrolls to be cut by common knife... Whilst bacon... God forbid... one should not touch the same serving spoon. :-) I feel for the poor serving staff getting all the frustrated customers. Also... where is the logic in needing to actually order warm food at the counter to actually get a plate. What happens if I only prefer ham/cheese sandwich? Quality of food suffers from corona measures... But I feel that if they have serving staff... fried eggs could at least be warm. Freshly made croissants where delicious. My challenge to hotel is to re-evaluate the corona measures. Either step it up to a point where they are not counter productive and creates high risk areas.... or just ditch them.... One measure I quite liked, though... was the "wait to be seated" option. Not very "corona friendly" as it creates another line-area in the midst of all lines... But really practical in an overcrowded area to not have to rush and race other guests to the table... following a time of "guarding your table as a hawk" while taking shifts of getting food. I like the practice... but as corona measure it is not doing much. Evening time restaurant not tested due to overly expensive menu. All in all... really nice hotel... good for children and families. Food... not good enough for the price level of the hotel. Price vs. Value... Were it not for the swim area (For which we still had to pay extra) we would not even consider this hotel. It is pricey and although nice... there is not enough there to defend such a price... (But I guess market decides... and it was all fully booked). Worth a visit if you have children...

Mediocre at bestWe stayed for two nights and we were are a totalt of four people, where of two kids aged 4 and 6. Ving had arranged entertainment at the hotel and there were a lot of hotel guests that had been rescheduled from the original vacation abroad. This made the hotel absolutely jam packed with guests. Breakfast buffét was ok and they had a waffle station on the side, but variety and assortment was well below any other Quality Hotel I have stayed at. Evening buffét was a disgrace and actually identical both days we were there. The warm meat/fish options were nearly inedible. Although, there was some variation on the dessert table from one night to the other. The pool and slide area was good fun, but well past its glory days, but the on site ice cream bar had an ok selection. The lunch bar in the pool area was a complete mess, not on behalf of the single employee working there doing her absolute best, but more on the ridiculous food offering and extremely low speed of delivery. Theee was only hamburger, toast and sausage to choose from. At times they had pizza, but they struggled with the dough. Customers were get ti g frustrated due to the time delay with their orders and for some reason they had no cold or ready made option, not even something simple as a salad or sandwich. In conclusion, not worth it and far away from the standard you would expect at a Quality Hotel.

Amazing hotelHotel had very clean and nice rooms. Staff was incredibly friendly. The food was very good! The swimming park was so great, big and spacious and fun. The environment was cosy and nice. Would definitely recommend it!
