  Mildura stay

  Average....very very average.room cleanliness average....outside noise from trucks. Pool could be bigger. Aircon needs cleaning..good location... Many of the surrounding restarants not open sundays.some reception staff really dont want to be there.......

  In major need of refurbishment....

  We enjoyed our stay and found the staff courteous. But, for the money spent we expect better. Its really sad to see a once grand hotel, now neglected. The layout and structure is fine it just needs a little love with some basic maintenance and refurbishment ie corridor carpets fraying and a trip hazard, chipped plaster and paint, pool tiles broken or missing, anti slip around the pool damaged and discoloured, a section of glass pool barrier is cracked, tired looking pool furniture and umbrellas. I will shop around next time until I hear of improvements to this hotel. And fire alarm went off one night with no instruction and unhelpful information on the back of the door which is a concern.

  So Glad We Had a Twirl with the Old Girl

  Desperate for some sun and unable to leave the state, we hit the road in the direction of Mildura for 4 days of near perfect weather. It surprises me to see people complaining about value for money here.. the location is great, right on the river and close to myriad eateries, cafes and shops. Our room was clean, had had a recent bathroom renovation and sported a really comfy bed with great quality linen. The staff at the front counter were always friendly and accomodating, after what no doubt must have been a very trying 2020. And yes she's old.. 130 years old! She's a piece of history! She's got many a story to tell. We found it fascinating to think of the people that might have passed through over the generations, the changes in the building over time. We thought the hotel offered excellent value for money and was in the best location in town. You would get truck noise from any of the other myriad accommodation providers that are dotted down Deakin Ave, but none of the others enjoy river frontage like the Mildura Grand. Hats off to the housekeeping team too, who were always super lovely and accomodating to us given we were working and trying to Zoom meet a lot during our stay. Hope to come back.

  Lovely old building

  Was told this place has recently been renovated. Well they did a good job, the room was lovely a good size with a good shower and good sized bathroom. Nice and clean no COVID worries here. Really enjoyed our over night stay and it is close to everything and we had a nice view from the window. The bed was comfortable with good pillows. Friendly staff at check in, will definitely stay here again probably on my way home from my trip.

  No sleep due to the noise

  We met family here for a long weekend, on the surface its a perfectly fine hotel. The pool and central gardens are great. The family room we were given however was on the corner of the site with traffic lights coming through the window and road noise and the TRUCKS all night. The room gets too hot unless you have the aircon running permanently. Cant open the windows because of the noise... but the aircon is average and also noisy. The aircon doesnt have a night-mode, or doesnt work, and you cant adjust the fan speed or direction - it blows straight over one of the beds. Weve all woken up each morning with dry throats and headaches Will avoid staying here again.
