  Disappointing food as an understatement

  Due to being unexpectedly unable to eat in our hotel nearby we swallowed our reservations (almost literally) and asked whether they had a table for 4 persons. We returned at the stated time of 7.00 pm and were shown a table by a waitress with a certain diffident manner, bordering on surly. We ordered the plat du jour for both starter and main course, the starter arrived in a reasonable time and consisted of 5 of the smallest scallops I have ever seen, these were overcooked to the point of being minute although the taste was good. We then waited over 1 hour for four main courses. We were sat out side the entrance to the kitchen so were not in any way invisible. The efforts appeared to be concentrated on attending to a meal for 16 teenagers who were having a set self service meal of pasta. When we enquired about the meals nothing happened until I contacted the reception and we were supplied with four meals that had obviously been ready for a considerable time, the salmon was overcooked to the point of a crust and the filet mignon likewise. The taste of the meals was similarly ok. This hotel is undergoing refurbishment with various partitions in place and it may be that this is part of an improvement but if they are not to waste the investment then the staffing needs to be addressed. I have had countless meals in France and with very few exceptions I have been served by people with a pride in their jobs and responsive to requests along with good to excellent food.We were forced by necessity to use this establishment and we overcame our reservations following a long drive and it's close proximity, the gamble of "it can't be that bad" for once proving us wrong. To those in the same position with a choice please bear these comments in mind. I would also mention that our hotel in which we stayed gave us a round of digestif's unasked as a concession against their inability to find us a table.

  The WORST!.

  This is on the face of it a little gripe. I sat at the bar,waited for about 15 minutes to be served,( the place was empty,including staff). I asked for a Jack Daniels and Coke. No problem the bar tender had both ingredients. He poured. I said I would like ice with the drink. He saidand remember this place is promoting itself as a 3 star hotel,we have no ice!. I said how can this be?. He said the ice machine is broken. After thinking for a moment,and working out hotel kitchens have freezers for their foods stuffs,and that anyone with an ounce of intelligence or more importantly CARE,could have created ice from a tap/faucet and a bowl!. I asked this guileless fellow,how long has the ice machine been broken ?. The chap said ONE MONTH. Tried to have lunch the next day. 2 of us at the table. 2 menus presented. So we chose and ordered,after about 20 minutes. Unfortunately I had been given the dinner menu my friend the correct lunch one, so I had tore order my meal,,which of course took another 15 mins before our waiter reappeared. Generally the lack of attention or interest of the staff,makes me think this place wont be around to long. I rest my case.

  Basic hotel with no frills

  We stayed for one night during August in a family room. The check in was easy and the receptionist was very polite, confirming times of dinner and breakfast. Although the room was basic, it was clean and the beds were comfortable, although extra pillows would have been a nice touch. The bathroom was clean and shower powerful. Although as it was over a bath this may cause difficulties with less mobile guests. We only had breakfast at the hotel, which was 10 euros for adults (no charge for our 5 year old) and was a good selection for a continental breakfast. Although I personally think it was quite expensive for the standard of the hotel (premier Inn and Travel lodge are better) I think it was the going rate for the area, it definitely doesn't deserve some of the really harsh reviews I've read on here.

  Excellent hotel, comfortable bed end perfect shower

  The personal was very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious with a beautiful bathroom. We have only one problem with de radiator it didn't work. Our trip was wonderful and lovely. We will come back! It was q very nice experience

  After a long day of traveling, my wife and mother in law would arrive at the hotel past the time when the restaurant would be open. I called the hotel and asked if they could arrange some food for my wife. They were wonderful. They prepared meals for them and they were waiting for them on their arrival. Thank you very much for your outstanding customer service and kindness!
