  Impresionantes villas

  Me resistía a escribir un comentario porque Puri Ghanesa es uno de esos lugares que no quieres que nadie más encuentre. Pero bueno, realmente merece que lo disfrute tanta gente como sea posible. Sólo hay cuatro o cinco villas a lo largo de un tramo de playa de la poco conocida costa norte de Bali. Todas ellas son enormes y bellamente decoradas, con un jardín de alrededor de un tercio de acre cada una. Eso quiere decir que tienes privacidad completa, tu propio trecho de playa, tu propia y gran piscina de piedra y varios lugares para comer en donde nadie te molestará. Aún cuando ya estás allí, es difícil creer lo lujoso que es. Los dueños también son fantásticos. Nos recogieron en Legian para conducir por dos horas hacia el norte y aprendimos más acerca de Bali durante ese tiempo que en visitas anteriores o guías turísticas. El ambiente del hotel es más parecido al de una propiedad privada de alguien. Ah y la comida: es sensacional y con una muy buena relación calidad-precio. Además puedes comer cuando quieras y en donde quieras. Hay dos empleados a tu disposición. ¡Que lo disfrutes!

  Unprofessional and Disappointing

  I started corresponding with the owner Diana in June 2019 and booked a villa for a stay starting at the end of November for 4 nights. Received a confirmation first week of July. On Aug 28 received an email from Diana stating that there was a "big problem" as a group had reached out to her a long time ago with a "tentative" booking but she never heard back from them. After countless attempts by Diana requesting a confirmation and with no reply, she confirmed our booking. And all of a sudden on Aug. 28 this group reached out to her to book all 4 villas. We only wanted one. Diana was now cancelling our reservation. She asked if we could change our flights (not able to) and that she would work at finding a solution stating she hoped to hear from me soon. On the same day my wife reached out to Diana explaining how this was a special trip for her and her daughter and that this was not right. Did not hear back from Diana. On Aug 30 I followed up with another email to Diana that she had gone silent. Needed to hear from her. Last time we heard from Diana was her cancelling our reservation over another group. I guess a confirmation isn't what it used to be. (Could not post this without listing a visit date)

  Perennial Favorite - nothing comes close

  I have been lucky enough to have been visiting Puri Ganesha for over a decade. The spacious two story villas - of which there are four - , the timeless, inimitable, shabby chic, the outstanding food and personal service always brings back so many fabulous memories. The founder as always, fabulous, chatty and busy. The staff attend to every whim - even if not standard or understood - and the whole beach-front estate blissfully captured in its own essence. I'm surprised by some of the reviews here... of course village people walk along the beach during the day (few and far between they be) maybe the guest does not know Indonesian beaches are not private but belong to the nation. Hence every resort / estate will have (as they very well should) local people walking along the beach. I have always found the staff charming the food fabulous and I definitely am in love with the decor - antiques, handmade inlays and cloths all beautifully organic and holistic - no cookie cutter here thank you very much! I just have to mention the pool - each villa has its own - the temperature is always divine and the quality of the water so cleansing... Can't wait to continue making memories here, items of beauty and things of privilege!

  Secluded Paradise In Bali

  Puri Ganesha is a hidden gem on the northwest coast of Bali. I spent four days in paradise, being served the most incredibly fresh food, made from local ingredients. The decor of the villas and common areas are impeccable, using Balinese art, fabrics, and antiques exploding with colors and stories. The pools are the perfect temperature for cooling off in the Bali sun, and a walk on the beach at sunset is an experience you'll never forget. The owner, Diana is delightful, and she teaches cooking classes in an open air pavilion where her spices and fresh ingredients are carefully laid out in gorgeous baskets and banana leaves. I learned so much about Balinese cooking and the numerous sambals used to flavor every dish. Diana's specialty is vegetarian and vegan, but we also cooked fish and chicken dishes that I've already started making at home. If you need direction for other things to do in Bali, Diana is an expert and can make your entire Balinese experience one you will never forget.

  Falling apart

  It's a lovely secluded spot, right on the beach with so much space. (You get quite a lot of people walking through the grounds on the way to the village/ the diving beach but they tend to stay at the edge of the property.) But the whole place is run-down. The 'common areas' are not so bad but the villa we stayed in was falling apart. The paving by the pool was in need of repair as were the loungers. In the villa itself, the showers didn't work, there were fixtures coming off the wall, the sides of the staircase were starting to break and some of the steps were a bit dodgy. And really for the price they charge.... it's unacceptable. When we mentioned some of the problems in the villa we were assured that someone would come and fix them straight away... it never happened. There was a very weird atmosphere between the owner and the staff... and also between the owner and her husband which was a bit uncomfortable at times. It's such a shame as the place could be stunning. But really they are charging way too much for a place that's seen better days.
