Relaxing stay in lovely hotelLovely hotel with easy access to town centre. Our room in the lodge was very clean although decor a bit dated. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Clear instructions provided regarding the Covid-19 safety measures put in place. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we visit this part of Dorset again.

Not value for moneyJust returned from this hotel and have to say it is not worth the prices charged. Outdated/ poor decor and furnishings. Beds a disaster zone as so old and worn out, No local info in reception, heating was non existent,But Breakfast was good with a good choice of food, coffee was not great. Waitress (Michelle) looked after us well and was on the ball, nothing seemed to much trouble for her. Steve the waiter was just as good and took equal time with the guests. I have to say for what we were charged it was NOT value for money and you would be better staying at another hotel, shame as it is well placed for the centre. We will not return to this place until it becomes more 4star and less 2 star. And yes we do understand that the current situation makes it difficult but covid aside the hotel really needs to look at itself and join the rest of us in the 2020s and leave the 1980s behind .

Tired and not good valueHave visited Swanage for many years and never stayed here; sad to report it should have stayed that way. I know Covid has changed things but this hotel is still in the 80s. Its tired and needs a refurbishment. Bare wooden window frames are stained and simply need cleaning and wax/varnish. Room facilities are equally unloved from the mundane (separated plug and chain in bath) to wobbly and precarious shelf over sink and dated and horrendously noisy old hair dryer in bathroom. Linens and towels although clean did not smell fresh and overall the room felt like a cheap b&b in Blackpool but for the money (120/ night) it was poor value. Breakfast was OK, freshly cooked and served with a smile.

Overnight stayPurbeck House is a quaint but beautiful old hotel. Positioned in a prime location for Swanage Bay. The room was huge was an old fireplace and huge statement windows. Despite its dated decor it certainly has a charm about it! The staff are very helpful.

Louisa Lodge - a pleasant surpriseFinding somewhere comfortable to stay for an essential business trip during a Covid lockdown seemed like a tall order but this place came up trumps. Well positioned in the town but with an out of town feel, the Louisa Lodge has large rooms that were clean and comfortable and with more power sockets than many (helpful for those of use with several devices to charge up). The bed was in proportion to the large room and comfortable. Due to Covid I cannot comment on food as it was room only but I would be very happy to stay here again next time I need to come to Swanage.
