Not worth it - No wifi and incompetent staffThe staff of Hotel del Faro were really quite unhelpful and often a bit rude - particularly so because we spoke very little Italian and relied on them to speak English. If you need wifi, I would not recommend staying at this place, the Internet only worked in common areas and didn't work in our rooms, not an observation, they actually told us at reception that wifi only works in common areas. To add to this, only one person from each room can access the wifi at any given time!! Oh! And I forgot, each room has a daily allowance of 250mb. About the room: when we first walked into our room, the room had a stench that I could not exactly put my finger on... We figured it came from the bathroom drainage.. But then we layed on the bed and realized the smell was from the blanket on top of the bed. It smelt of vomit - I am not exaggerating! And I cringe to think of the hygiene practices as this resort. The pillow cases whilst had been washed, had a stench of cigarette smoke, the linen was obviously from a smoking room and for a non smoking couple, it was very uncomfortable to have to smell cigarette stench on your pillowcase whilst sleeping. The room itself was a little dilapidated, the bathroom was quite outdated. For the price we paid to stay at this hotel and resort, we were really left in shock... On the upside, this resort gives you access to one of the most beautiful beaches with the bluest water we have ever seen. Get there quick though, given the shady trees on the mountain, the sun is only out on the beach from morning until about 1-2pm.

Great location for a holiday in the naturePerfectly located on top of a bay the hotel is part of a larger complex which includes another hotel and residence. Perfect for families as no car are allowed in the park (shuttel are provided). Water sports of any kind. We enjoyed rafting and snorkling around the coast. The hotel restaurant could be better as well as wifi, only available in the reception

Beautiful sceneryThe Hotel Del Faro located within the Pugnochiuso Resort complex is set against some of the most beautiful nature I've seen. The hotel is bright and airy and the luxury suite that we stayed in, looked out to the sea with gorgeous views. The room was very comfortable and well-appointed. If you don't speak Italian very well, or not at all, this will probably be an awkward stay. This is a mostly locals resort with very few English speakers. Don't expect the staff to speak more than a couple words of English. Unlike the big tourist cities, this is mostly a local getaway and is not as accommodating to visitors who speak only a little Italian. This is a very family-oriented hotel with buffet service for dinner which costs about 30Euro per person. It's not easy to find low cost meal options within the resort unless you plan on eating pastries. Knowing a basic level of Italian has been enough to get by in other villages and towns in Italy, but I struggled with communication here as it's definitely off the beaten path. It was my mistake for not realizing how remote the resort is, and obviously I don't expect the staff to speak English, but my level of Italian wasn't strong enough to comfortably communicate here. The staff generally did not appreciate my trying to speak Italian. We were faced with more than one case of judgmental giggles when we tried to communicate. This is a great getaway for the locals and Italian speakers, but I wouldn't recommend this hideaway for anyone with an elementary fluency in Italian. Beautiful & relaxing with views to die for, and lots of summertime activities for families.

Should have cancelled when they told me dogs werent allowedThen we arrived and found 1970s era room decor, not even a bottle of water in the refrigerator (not even if we wanted to pay, you have to go to the mini-market and buy water if you want to drink in your room...), no wifi in the rooms... its unbelievable the hotel is still considered 4 stars. They dont provide beach towels (5 per day if you want one), pools all close at 7 and dinner ends at 9:30. When we went to get a shuttle after dinner the driver told us that we couldnt get on as it was reserved for the staff finishing their shift (the client always comes first? Not here obviously!) And the bathrooms in the Piazzetta in the evening are filthy, there is no soap to wash your hands... seems like a cheap bar rather than a 4 star hotel. Way way way too expensive for the services (or lack of services) offered.

An unexpected beautiful place! The room: simply nice, very clean and with a panoramic view, even if was on the low level. Practically on the rock and the sea. Look like in a wild place: twice I and my friends we have the opportunity to see a family of wild goats crossing under our balcony! Who else?
