Up in the CloudsIt's a real find, with large rooms, spotlessly clean, great food and at a great price. The foyer/reception is slightly weird but inoffensive. The owner cherishes her Ladin heritage and regularly puts on Ladin evenings with typical food from that region. Guests and staff are overwhelmingly German speaking but English is really not too much of a problem. Dining options in the village are very limited so go for the diner and breakfast package, you won't regret it. Some lovely walks in the region, the Sass de Putia Circuit from Passo del Erba at the top of the hill above the hotel is a cracker.

Great food, location and good price. Furrnitures to be improved.Home made, fresh and tasty food. A very nice small town on the Dolomites, with no crowd and gorgeous environment. Price is affordable, though not chea, compared to the services. The furnitures (TV, WiFi and similar) have to be improved but do not significantly affect my overall rating.

Convenient,Clean,Friendly,ValueStayed here in January 2012 for avalanche training in mountains and skiing for fun. Convenient to ski areas and Dolomiten hiking trails. Hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean. Food is excellent, but most importantly the Prausch family makes you feel at home and have excellent hospitality. Very nice people. The area is peaceful and special. Daily shuttles to the ski areas are complimentary. I will visit them again and highly recommend this hotel for family vacation or a ski vacation.

Jewel of a HotelWe have stayed at this family-run hotel twice while skiing over New Year's week, and both times were absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and they are able to offer family-sized, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suites that work well for us, especially with all of our skiing paraphernalia. The Prousch family and their employees work very hard to make sure their customers feel like guests. In the course of a week, you get to know other guests, many of whom return year after year, for good reason. The new bar area reminds me of staying at a lodge or retreat, with families playing games, doing puzzles and chatting in the evening hours between skiing and dinner. My daughter loved the kids' area and made new friends (German and Italian are the languages in the kids' "club"). Breakfast and dinner are consistently excellent, with new culinary experiences each trip. The view of the Dolomites from the hotel is absolutely incredible. The only tricky part is the drive there in the winter, as the hotel is truly off the beaten path. For motorcyclists it must be an absolutely glorious ride up in the summer. I highly recommend Hotel Putia for anyone looking for a comfortable, lovely, traditional, family-oriented place to stay in the Dolomites.
