  Nice stay and location

  The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The local free shuttle service is useful although some confusion the hours its free and when it runs. Rooms are fine. Could I please urge both the bar and front desk to have change. Its the same issue every time I stay. However, all generally good.

  Good value

  UK business traveller. One week visiting a local business. Great value hotel. Great food in restaurant. Complimentary taxi shuttle in local area saved a lot of hassle of taxis etc. First class gym 100m away with complementary passes for guests. Also lots of golf and golf practice nearby. Very accommodating general manager gave us a warm welcome. Thank you Jaco.

  Just returned from a recent seven days stay at the Protea. Highly satisfactory venue for business visitors. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The restaurant is of a decent standard for breakfast and evening meal. There were complimentary local taxis and also gym membership, both concessions were gratefully received. A final mention to the obliging staff especially Jaco the Manager who kindly assisted our party with early arrival and departure times. Recommended.

  Do not bother, service is non existent!

  Stayed here to visit friends, from checking in asking for a fridge for my room to ordering coffee from the bar..... Staff just dont care, from the receptionist to the non phone answering barman. Even after lodging my complaint, the Guest relation officer could not assist me as her senior has got a family crisis? After I rang again and given my details again, the general manager rang me, promised me he will send me an email with some consolation. Now a week later Im still waiting for his email. Disgusting poor service, Protea Hotels not only is your front of house staff terrible, the entire hotel does not know the word customer service. Advice for anyone looking to stay here....just dont!

  I have mixed feelings towards this hotel. What's great? Good price, conveniently located near the Gautrain station, businesses and Centurion mall. Has a complimentary shuttle service that doesn't stop too early (exact times escape me now). A decent breakfast selection. Meeting rooms. A breakfast pack to go if you'll miss breakfast due to meetings etc. Good sized rooms, comfortable bed. What's not so great? I've had quite a few issues with rooms that need some maintenance. A flickering bathroom light in a previous stay. This month it was a dripping/ leaking aircon in room102. Carpet was wet and the constant drip sounds kept me awake. Tried calling 9 for reception twice, no answer. Shut aircon off, but it seems leaking only stopped close to morning. Possible blocked/ bent moisture outlet pipe that needs maintenance attention/ cleaning. Reception staff could be friendlier, more attentive... I don't get a feeling of "I've just received excellent service" when I leave there. Things that would be nice to have. Better lighting around the basin mirror for make-up applications. In future, possibly better sound proofing for rooms near the elevators? I think it will also be great to have a notification on the back of the door on when last the room had a full maintenance check... faucets, lighting, aircon, power outlets, etc.
