  Awesome safari

  Protea hotel safari lodge is a very nice place for a family outing. It is a pool for both adults and children. It also provides an awesome safari ride through its bushes with a view of beautiful animals. It has amazing food and affordable lodging. You wanna go on a safari, its the best place to go. It also has a nice relaxing area on a nice loan and freshly smelling trees and flowers. Its an awesome place you'll want to go back there every time you want to spend good time with family or you could go as an individual or a couple. It is also a perfect place for a honeymoon.

  A touch of tranquility

  Three of us have justhad 3 glorious days here at the Protea. Everything was just perfect from the rerstaurant, to the grounds, to the wonderful staff. And we saw the giraffes! It is definately worth the 8km drive upthe bumpy yellow sandy lane.

  Lovely surroundings which include kudus wandering freely, accommodating staff

  I loved this hotel safari lodge. The surroundings were lovely - much grass and greenery, kudus wandering free and actually coming close to guests, accommodating and friendly staff, good food. I particularly liked the variety of cooked vegetables. They can also accommodate guests with game drives through the adjacent Chisamba reserve, although it cannot be compared with other game reserves in the region.

  Getaway

  We visited this hotel for an extended weekend away for my birthday. The scenery was lovely. The staff ( particularly Gift, Simon and John) were very helpful and very polite. The Hotel itself is quite outdated. We had a chalet and the bathroom particularly is soo outdated, nothing impressive. low quality toilet paper. The food was average at best. The bar was poorly stocked, after one bottle of what we were drinking finished it was not restocked despite being aware of our requests and being told they were restocking before the end of the day. We kept having to adjust our orders but everything was low. One night, they hosted a private event and did not inform us the guests. It was loud and annoying and countered the whole reason why we went there. we went on a game drive which was also underwhelming. The guide told us nothing about the animals and just pointed out the names.

  Five Stars

  My family had a lovely stay at Protea Chisamba over Valentines Day weekend. Ive been a guest at this lodge for over a period of 15 years, as its Lusakas premiere conferencing venue. But its also a great family destination. An extremely well-managed lodge, every time I return I notice an improvement or two. The gardens are mature for sitting under a tree with a good book - and the swimming pool, jungle gym, basketball basket and game drives entertained my children. The food is a bit rich and heavy, but we all indulged and made room for deserts. The staff is wonderful - many are long-term and part of a highly professional team. Congratulations to the long-time general manager, Jenny, who has built a great business and provides consistent excellence to her guests.
