  Good sized room and clean

  Stayed for 2 nights in September 2020 while visiting Great Basin National Park. Check in was easy and the room was clean and typical. We were given a room far from the casino and experienced no cigarette smoke from the gamblers. Not all guests wore masks, though they were required and one woman was packing a pistol that was clearly sticking out of the top of her pants. I guess as long as you're not concealing it in Nevada it's ok? First time I had ever seen that at any hotel. It's a one hour drive to Great Basin from the hotel.

  Friendly, clean, feels safe

  We drive thru Ely a few times a year and find the Prospector just right for a night stay. Staff is always friendly, theres Western decor to bring smiles to travel weary visitors, and an on-site restaurant and bar. While having a drink in the bar Kathy the night supervisor stopped by our table and asked how our room was. I mentioned we had been unable to open the window. By the time I returned to my room, Kathy was there with a very nice maintenance fellow and window was open. Above and beyond expected. Did I mention complimentary popcorn and drink vouchers?   Eclectic, just the way you want it

  The Prospector is a cool place and probably still the nicest place in Ely. The decor is eclectic, but thats the way this town in the middle of nowhere is too. The staff has always been friendly and is keen to help you have a great stay. The rooms are large and modern. The hotel has lots of little things that add to the trip like candy, earplugs and a rubber duck by the bathtub. The hotel manages to be fairly quiet but the times we have stayed here all the rooms he have had are adjoining. The beds are comfortable, and make for a great nights rest. The hotel has a good amount to offer. The casino for the area is large, the Mexican restaurant is great. The pool area is great and a very large hot tub. Only disappointment on our last trip is in the motioning when the pool was meant to be open the hot tub was cold. Otherwise we have yet to be disappointed here and will always include the prospector in our adventures to the are!

  Nice stay, friendly staff!

  My daughter and I stayed here on a trip from Phoenix to Twin Falls, Idaho. The staff at the front desk was friendly and welcoming, as was the staff in the cute little gift shop. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the restaurant on site was good and convenient as well. We enjoyed our short stay!

  Best Met Hotel Ever!

  From the room furnishings to the pet amenities this place has it all. We stop every time on our trip both ways from WA to AZ and back. On departure day we decided to go to the restaurant for breakfast and it was excellent too. You won't regret a stay here even if you don't want to gamble.
