Good Hotel & Facilitiesnear the "Old City"!

The hotel now has three buildings [the newest is almost complete] and an excellent pool with a poolside restaurant! The location is very close to many "places to see & experience". There is also a pretty good lending library. I could never agree with some of the reviews-- and, my American friend has lived there comfortably for many years!!

Great value if a little run down

I often stay here when visiting Chiangmai. Great value. Very good pool area. The hotel is being progressively up graded after years of neglect. The renovated rooms are very good and some come with a large covered balcony. Rooms in the unrenovated sections are dark, with old furniture decor and creaking floors, but clean and mostly comfortable. Conveniently located within walking distance of the markets and a short tuk tuk ride to the old city.

    Great value and location.

Booked a room.for the night and ended up staying 8 nights. This is a older hotel going through some very slow renovations. Our room on the 5 th floor with balcony overlooking the very nice and always upkept swimming pool was in good shape, came with refrigerator, water boiler for your coffee even though there is a 24 hour free coffee maker in the lobby, flat screen tv and a nice clean bathroom. The room was eaned daily. Unfortunately the are so many doves who get through the netting that hangs off the room and still come to poop on the balcony which the cleaning staff seem to overlook. Otherwise, employees are friendly and helpful and always smile. Location is quite and within walk g distance to old city (4 min) night market ( about 8 min ) I highly recommend this place. At the moment is was paying $25.00 a night but noticed even better deals online so keep a eye out for better bargains. If the review is helpful to you then please, give it a thumbs up.

    It's a lucky dip

I have stayed at the prince every time I visit Chiangmai for the last 10yrs (at least once pre year) . Sometimes it is fabulous, depending on the room you end up with, sometimes it is average, and sometimes like today it has me questioning whether I will ever visit again. I find myself in a small bad smelling room with no windows and a noisy air conditioner. No windows means no natural light or airflow (thus the smell I assume). It is the last room in the hotel and our booking is non refundable. When we stayed here last week we were overjoyed by the experience. Today I am seriously thinking about walking out writing off the booking and finding somewhere else, anywhere else! This is not how I want to remember my last night in Thailand. GUTTED!
