Worst hotel stay everMain issue is that room walls are thin. Our room was next to one with guests who were very loud until 5am. Front desk was difficult to contact and when they were reached there didnt seem to be active monitoring to ensure the noise levels were appropriate for middle of night. There was no written notices in hotel indicating a quiet time for other guests.

Good ValueI recently travelled here with a friend who had to come to town for medical. Were both essential workers and were grateful for the discount theyre currently offering essential workers. The bathroom appears to have been recently mostly redone and looks great. I also LOVE that theres a bathroom fan and its separately controlled from the light (although I dont think the fan actually worked). This seems to be a rare feature in hotels. The bed and pillows were comfy and allowed for a good nights sleep in stressful circumstances. In general it appears they are in the process of refreshing the property. For example the hallway carpet appears to have been updated but not the walls. Lots of little changes due to COVID like housekeeping only on request and limitations in the the elevator but nothing onerous for us. They offered breakfast bags in the morning with juice/water a breakfast bar, muffin and fruit. We were happy with this and appreciated it was ready to go first thing. We were also impressed that shortly after check in, staff called to the room to see if everything was okay. Front desk staff were probably irritated with me as the room key seemed very easily demagnetized by my phone and/car keys. I had to ask for a new key a handful of times during our two night stay. Only negative was that in one of the elevators there was a very strong air freshener that irritated my eyes and nose.

Gouging in pandemic timeAs a senior travelling home to Haida Gwaii after a medical trip to Vancouver, I wanted a room to wait in before the night ferry. I called to ask - $170.00! I pointed out this was a bit steep for 5 hours and asked to speak to the manager. There was no one available. Most unfortunately, I gave my credit card number, hoping to speak to a more reasonable person when I arrived. Happily, I found a friend with a mask, who agreed to shelter me and drop me at the ferry, so I called to cancel. This was not possible either- they wanted 24 hours notice. The manager? No one was available. In this time of Covid, I understand that businesses are struggling, but I seriously doubt that my booking had caused the hotel to turn away guests. Nor had I occupied a room and thus caused them to spend money on cleaning it. Instead, in the name of policy, The Prestige Hôtel has gouged me $170.00 for NOTHING. My advice- dont go there. There are lots of nice hotels in Prince Rupert, this isnt one of them.

MissExceptional service, very clean, quiet, close to many restaurants and next door to airport shuttle. Late check out because of flight, not a problem. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable and easy. Highly recommend!!

Comfy and clean rooms, great location, just a short walk from the waterfront. The woman at the desk was super nice! Comfy and clean rooms, great location, just a short walk from the waterfront. Nice little breakfast at the start of the day. Check in was fast, ample parking in the rear. Room had a great view of the water. Would likely stay here again next time I'm in town. :)
