  Inexpensive Night in Brest

  The location was very good for us as we had to depart for a ferry from Roscoff early the following day. The Hotels are very basic, which to be honest was exactly the criteria we sought, but better than a Formula One. We had come over from Plymouth on a Day Trip specifically to buy various goodies in France that you cannot get in the U.K., particularly wine! There are many large Hyper-Markets in the location near this hotel which was ideal for our quest. Roscoff is about 30 minutes from the hotel except in rush hours.

  Couldn't stay

  We booked to stay here on our way further south. We couldn't stay as the room we were in was very poor. It was small and very dark, it smelled of smoke as the ashtray was outside our room and we needed to keep the window open due to the heat. I know the price is cheap but I didn't expect a room like that one. The breakfast room is very tiny and barely fits people in. We ended up leaving as it was too claustrophobic and bleak for us.

  Rough & Ready

  This hotel is as basic as it gets but it does the job that its intended to do in providing somewhere to rest your head for the night and to freshen up in the morning at a budget price. It wasnt the biggest, cleanest or most comfortable room Ive ever stayed in of course, and it was a little tired, worn and in need of some TLC, but it served its purpose. The location is convenient for the airport and is only a short drive away. There was a large supermarket within walking distance and numerous restaurants within the immediate vicinity. It did its job!

  Disappointed

  Disappointed with bedroom, it was not inviting due to it being a badly lit room and everything in the room was of poor quality. There was a build-up of dust and dirt in areas difficult to clean and all the paintwork needed to be redone with a bright colour. The shower/toilet cubicle was clean but in dire need of an upgrade. Shower was very small and the shower curtain kept sticking to you. The wash hand basin had a leaking tap and the sink had a network of lines/cracks in plastic. There were cigarette burns on floor and wash hand basin. The windows were dirty. The clothes hanging facility was not adequate. The bed mattress was of poor quality. There was broken glass in the car park. The bedding and towels were clean. Receptionist was polite and professional and the internet connection was speedy. This was our first experience of a Premiere Classe Budget Hotel and will be unforgettable. After a long day travelling, we never had the energy or time to look for alternative accommodation but we wish we had. We are regular visitors to France and this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We would not recommend this hotel. A deep clean and total refurbishment is required.

  Better than a park bench, just!

  Arrived 4.30pm and Auto check-in took five tries. No electricity in the room until 10pm, after a sit in protest in reception. Failed again next morning so had to shower in darkness. Ground floor room with large gap under the front door to the outside, so worried about animals getting in all night. Decor and maintenance poor. But at least it was clean and cheap. Worth paying 7 euros extra for a room in Campanile next door, but unfortunately no vacancies when i booked.
