Good location, average room, terrible front desk service4D3N family trip Check-in It was either by oversight or language differences that a reservation for smoking room was made. This was only reveal at check-in. I was at total shock. I tried remedy by accepting that i have made a mistake and asked if there was any non-smoking rooms. The answer was "fully booked". I was willing to pay and enquire how much it will cost to upgrade and the answer was somewhat "snobbish": "fully booked". I tried one last time and asked the availability for the other 2 nights. The same answer "fully booked" in the "cannot be bother" manner. This was added by "is it okay?" In addition to verbal English, I tried using google translate in written form to translate to Japanese throughout the process to ensure that the correct message is provided. The answer and service provided did not seem to reflect language barrier but terrible service quality; right at the front desk. Room Anyhow, we were given a corner room (it was later to my realise that smoking is not allow in the room, so it leaves you only with smoking in the corridors. i assume it as a "punishment" to be given a corner room as it seems to be the centre where all the smoke meets for two corridors). It is therefore not surprising that the room and all its contents smells of smoking. Feel bad for my child to having bear this for 4D3N. Standard room size. While some may see it as outdate but i seem to prefer to standard light switches at the bedside cupboard. The bathroom / toilet was raised by say about 6 inches. So, you will have to be very careful when you go to the bathroom, especially at night. The room safe is one of a kind. It comes with a security card to lock and unlock. Don't ask me the level of security but just have to trust it. Sleep quality Nil given the smell of smoking. Location Yes. it is a good location. Within close proximity (walking distance) to train station, main shopping mall and food. There is a 7-11 just round the corner. Nothing to worry if you are hungry in the middle of the night. Breakfast Buffet breakfast including in the package. Standard variety and taste. Great view as the venue is in the top floor of the hotel. Conclusion I must congratulate the hotel for having such a good business and be fully book during the holiday session. Given the hardware (good location), service volume in quantity is unlikely to be a problem. However, the software (service quality) is also important. The seemingly "snobbish" altitude, giving the impression that "we have too much business", together with the "impressive question", means very unlikely return. Considering an average person spends 8 hours sleeping and 1 hour on each meal at home. This is more likely so for the average hotel guest. The average hotel guest spend most of their time in the hotel sleeping. In this experience, the average room and terrible service outweighs the good location of the hotel. I regret to have made reservation and stay with this hotel.

Centrally locatedHotel: looked Victorian in a way from the outside. We stayed in a double room. Room: Small(pretty common with basic hotel stays in Japan), older furniture a bit chipped away, and carpet faded. We were in a nonsmoking room, but could smell cigarette smoke lingering in the hallway. Front desk service: Service was good. If you dont speak Japanese, there are clerks that do. My husband speaks fluent Japanese so checking in was easy. Parking: This was a disappointment. We parked in an open lot since we were told that there was NO PARKING in the building. It was pouring rain the days we were there. Then while sitting outside, another car came after us and it was ok for them to park They were checking in as well and reservations for in building parking was not needed ahead of time. We checked at the front desk about car length requirements and she told us that they could not accommodate long cars....I calculated the length of the car that was allowed to park in the building(Mazda SUV) to our Subaru Forester and it was about the same length(15). WTH! Not daijobu. Overall: Its a budget hotel. No frills so its good for central area. Close proximity to everything convenient and tourist areas. We were not lounging in the hotel and didnt use the onsen so the hotel served its purpose.

Very comfortable and nice breakfastThe hotel is very close to the JR station and supermarket. I enjoyed the food at a big food court where you can find your favorites. The room was clean and quiet. The staff is very good. The breakfast is notable. You can enjoy various local foods; there are a variety of foods are served at a wonderful restaurant on the top floor, where you can see a spectacular view of Asahikawa. You should book this, when you travel to Asahikawa that is one of my favorite cites in Japan.

One of the hotels near Asahikawa station, prices are relatively reasonable12 This is one of the hotels that is close to Asahikawa station and easy to access. The size and structure of the rooms for one or two people is almost the same as average business hotel. Therefore, if you are used to the environment, you won't feel particularly uncomfortable. I liked that the room was simple but clean and tidy. The smallness of the bathrooms is something of a fate of business hotels. Perhaps because it was snowing quite a bit at the time of my stay, the staff seemed to be sufficiently accustomed to serving guests who were not used to snow. Special seats were pulled at the entrance and cloakroom to prevent slipping in the snow. It has a large bathroom and a restaurant, but you can stay at a reasonable price. This is one of the hotels I recommend.
