  Magnífico Hotel de diseño en un paisaje impresionante

  La Sierra de la Estrella era una zona de Portugal desconocida para mí y ha sido toda una sorpresa encontrarme con este hotel de diseño en esta especie de Suiza portuguesa. Las habitaciones son muy confortables , te ofrecen todo tipo de comodidades : mantitas para estar en la terraza, cargadores de móviles, buffet de media tarde, etc... el personal es muy amable y las vistas son impresionantes. Muy buen desayuno

  Relaxing stay in a mountain retreat

  Casa de Sao Lourenço offers a breath taking view over the Vale do Zêzere and Manteigas. While one is not in the Alps, even as a German the surrounding landscape is memorable. The former Pousada has been given a distinct design touch fitting to the mountain surroundings. Due to Covid breakfast was preordered, including a vast array of cheese, meet, jams, omelettes, bread types etc. Views from the terrace as well as the restaurant are magnificent and contribute to immediate relaxation. Dinner at the à la carte restaurant was very good but guests should also consider dinner at the sister hotel Casa Penha Douradas, 10 minutes by car. From that hotel free 1.5 hour guided walks are offered at 5pm every day. We took part twice and enjoyed the views and the interesting explanations. There is also a mountain lake 10 minutes away which offers better swimming than the hotel pool which is heated (rare in Portugal) but mainly indoor. Not only the staff of the hotel is extremely helpful but when there was a car problem late at night, the owner went out of his way to help getting the issue resolved. Many many thanks again! We are hoping to return to Casa de Sao Lourenço in winter to admire the landscape with snow.

  Great experience in a friendly, cool and cosy hotel in the middle of the mountain

  The hotel is amazing. Located in the middle of the mountain, with stunning views, this is an obvious choice if you want to stay in Serra da Estrela. The pool is small but nice. The service is good quality. The rooms are perfectly decorated. Everything brings you the quit you are expecting in a break in the mountains. Enjoy!!

  Stylish, unique, simply the best!

  Where do I find words to describe this experience? This review is long overdue since we stayed here in Jule, 2019. But I keep traveling back to this hotel in my dreams and hope to come back soon. Stunning property - immaculate design with a great attention to detail, and I love how they incorporated the burel factory theme in the hotel concept, beautiful vistas of the mountains. The team is amazing and are doing an outstanding job in running this property. The chef is a star - we had dinner at the hotel restaurant each night of our stay and it was always a blast. I must say that I am a real hotel junkie - I love hotels and am always on a lookout for new cool properties with character and style. I've been to the coolest hotels in Portugal (Areis de Seixo and São Lourenço do Barrocal had been my two favourites) and I must say that Casa has really outperformed those two for me.

  Outstanding

  Casa de Sao Lourenco is an outstanding boutique hotel. The decor and coziness are very welcoming and comforting, the staff is professional and caring, the food is delicious in a very original restaurant menu. The views are also breathtaking. I totally recommend it!
