Nice location and good service...at the beginning of the Silvretta Hochalpenstrasse (overvalued imho). Got a very nice, spacious room with magnificent view of the mountain. Kind and helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast OK. A bit overpriced.

Decent rooms but poor serviceWe spent a week in Posthotel Rössel for skiing in January. We stayed in the back part of the building which has been renovated recently and has nice and comfortable rooms. Service - both at reception and during dinner was unimpressive through the week. Reception is organised quite chaotic and it took them quite a while to get sorted on our reservation. Also the waitress during dinner had problems to keep track of orders and bring out orders in a timely manner; more often than not things were forgotten. Finally food was also disappointing given price. Overall we will not come back even though it was not a terrible experience but still disappointing on a couple of fronts.

Friendly hotel with all the comfort you needPosthotel Roessle is situated in the centre of Gaschurn on walking distance from the gondola that takes you up the mountain. If you book directly at the hotel they have some nice, spacious and quiet familyrooms available. Swimmingpool and wellness is really nice after a day skiing. The meals at night are delicious. Good quality and variety. Staff is really friendly. They can arrange your ski passes as well and you get a 15% discount on the ski rental, with the possibility to stall your boots and skies at the shop next to the gondola.

Lovely hotelStayed here for4 nights. Friendly and efficient check in. Room was very spacious with a terrace (second floor). It had everything we needed apart from a kettle to make tea and coffee and no kettle available when we asked for one at reception. Bathroom was good with 2 sinks and a shower over the bath. Our room was cleaned daily and the cleaners work hard, thank you Nikolina. The indoor pool was lovely with loungers to relax on and see the great views of the snowy scenery outside. Robes were supplied in our room.Spa facilities were also very good. Massage was great which I really enjoyed. The food in the hotel at breakfast and evening was excellent, some of the best food we have had so full marks to the chef and kitchen staff. The waiting on staff were pleasant and worked very hard including Anja, Andrea, Tunda, and Lukas. The hotel overall had a nice ambience and was spotlessly clean throughout. There were plenty of area`s downstairs to sit after dinner to relax or have a drink at the bar. There was a real fire too which we love but unfortunately was never lit while we were here. The hotel location is good with plenty of other hotels, bars and shops within the area and just a 10 minute walk to the cable car station. We hope to return here again.

Gaschurn, A Breathtaking View Over The Austrian AlpsGaschurn is a touristic place, a paradise of the winter sports. It is a magnificent mounain area. It offers splendid hiking routes, and exciting gliding sessions in summer, and a lot of attractive winter sport activities in winter. I did not live in the hotel Posthotel Roessle, but I could see it from outside every day (I stayed nearby, to some friends). But I was delighted to hear that the great American writer, Ernest Hemingway was the guest of this hotel for a while. He also lived in Schruns, a village in the neighbourhood, famous for its winter sports, too. Though I admire Hemingways writing, I did not come to Schruns to chase his legend. At least not intentionally. But Hemingway helped put Ketchum/Sun Valley on the map, and after the ski tour below Piz Buin and down Jamtal Ferner into Galtur was described to me, I could not say no. First I wanted to ski the massive Silvretta Novathe vast interconnect which fills the high peaks above Schruns, St. Gallenkirch and Gaschurn. If the Silvretta Novas twenty eight lifts and hundred kilometers of marked pistes existed when Hemingway wintered here, he might never have settled in Ketchum. Here steep bump runs roll, dive and twist down forested gulleys while perfectly groomed boulevards lead to empty quad lifts. A deep winter storm, however, has buried the Silvretta Nova beneath two feet of cold powder and only a fool would risk the passes that lead to Switzerland. With the visibility alternating between murky and opaque, the trees offered superb skiing and on the last run of the day, I followed Zigjams untracked terrain back to Gaschurn. Winters are heavy in Gaschurn, but either winter or other seasons, passionate photographers have the opportunity to develop their photography art here.
