    Best restaurant

Visited the fabulous port of Porto Ottiolu in Sardegna had lunch at a fabulous restaurant called La Risacca. The views from the restaurant were amazing over looking the port and the surrounding area, The food is of high standards & served by friendly and pleasant staff, if you are ever around this area it's worth making the effort to find this place.

Great 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the marina

We have just returned from a 10 night stay in a one bedroom apartment overlooking the marina and I couldn't be happier with our choice. The apartment was bigger than anticipated and although basic had everything needed in a fantastic location. Had a lovely outdoor area with table and chairs and an outdoor shower, perfect when you got back from the beach and are covered in sand. The main bathroom had a great hot shower with good pressure. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The resort had to supermarkets, selling everything you would need. Plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and ice cream parlours around the marina. In the evening there are little market stalls selling jewellery and clothes. Also a cash point in case you need to get money out. We found the main beach a little busy for our liking. It is ideal for families but if you want something with less people head to the larger beaches in Budoni where you can find some space for peace and quiet :-)

    perfect little getaway

stayed in a two bedroom apartment as a family of 5. We arrived 6 hours late thanks to easyjet and Federica was extremely helpful in getting us to our room at 11pm. we were met by the site manager who we followed by car to our apartment, he was extremely helpful and said we could hold off checking in until the following morning. he showed us what was what in the room left us to get settled. We were aware it would be a bit of a squeeze but given the amount of time we spent there, it wasn't really an issue. The only issue I had was with the bunk beds. No ladder and no safety rail on the side of the top bunk which meant we had to lift the top bunk off and create two singles, which made the room for our two youngest very tight. Our eldest had the double bed to herself and my wife and I slept on the Fouton in the living room. (which was surprisingly comfortable.) The room had a full 4 ring burner, with a gas cannister under the sink. The room was clean upon arrival and pleasant enough given we paid less than £200 for it for a week. The electrics were a bit flakey. (kept tripping when using a hair dryer.) The balcony was spacious and we sat out most nights with a carton of wine. (less than 3 euros a liter in the supermarket and not bad!) regarding the rest of the resort itself, Porto Ottiolu itself feels like a town, even though you can tell it's purpose-built. The harbor area is lovely with 4 or five restaurants and a couple of bars. (Bartiggiano being by far the best, especially if you're not a fan of European lager!) There's not a lot to do around during early season but if you like beaches and swimming you'll love it. The beach is beautiful and so clean. Prices on the resort are not extraordinary. you can get a fairly sizeable Margherita pizza from between 4 and 7 euros. All in all we had a thoroughly pleasant stay, next time though I'd spend a bit more on a larger apartment.

    Worst stay ever

First the pros: The property is very close to the beach and an easy walk to the harbour restaurants. The lady at reception was very helpful and understanding. That is all. Cons: Reception doesnt open between 1-4pm (ish) so if youre arriving between those times be prepared to sit around and wait. The apartment we stayed in H79 is a 2 bedroom apartment. The beds in the second room werent made, the reception guy just threw a bag of sheets and towels on the bed and walked away. There are no blankets provided, you have to request them. Only one toilet roll is provided then youre expected to buy your own. You are to clean all the dishes before you leave - but once again, you should provide your own dish soap. The place is full of dirt and sand, you cannot walk around without shoes on. Only one of the power point in the entire unit accepted the EU plug. The TV is tiny. The stove didnt work, even though that reception guy came to fix it. In a 2 bedroom apartment the allegedly sleeps 6, theres is only a 2 person couch to sit on and relax. Finally, the pool was a disgusting green, with piles of chemical containers massed around it. I would suggest unless youre seriously looking for budget accomodation and youre prepared to provide everything, go somewhere else

    Shouldn't be called a resort

This is just a bunch of apartments, both short and long term. We were there on the cusp of the season, and I can only imagine this is why the pool was green and disgusting, no restaurants were open and getting hold of reception was hit and miss. Our apartment was functional and not far from reception, but people in the apartment above us were having a vocal and physical fight and you've got no hope of getting hold of reception in the middle of the night. As mentioned, be careful what time of day you arrive - we had to wait for ages before reception showed up. Yep its super cheap - for a reason. If you aren't a backpacker, give this one a miss.
