  We will return!

  Our family just left Port Royal and had an excellent time. We stayed in 4103, which is a gulf-facing three bedroom condo. While our condo was definitely dated as far as the decor, it was clean and charming. It had everything we needed in the full kitchenette, and a working washer and dryer. The multiple pools that flow into each other, and the hot tubs, are fantastic and refreshing. The kids had a blast on the water slides. The boardwalk leads straight to the beach from the resort, and this is prime beach location. This is a great place to go and just stay put, because everything you need is there. We went during the week, and so it was easy to keep a distance from others. They are now assigning a pool table to each room, versus guests sitting just anywhere at the pool, which supports social distancing as well. I would love to be able to give them 5 stars, but I think its important to acknowledge a few things in need of improvement, so that people know what to expect. They are coping with damage due to continual hurricanes, due to their location and which cant be helped. They also really need to repair their elevators. I think people that understand there is some updating that would be ideal, and some hurricane damage, they will set their expectations properly and really love this place. We will definitely be back. The whole family had a great time.

  Amazing rooms

  My family was at Port Royal and the room we were in (6318) was amazing. If you are planning on going to Port Aransas come to Port Royal. It is Amazing here. #Port Aransas # Port Royal # family vacation.

  Vacation with friends.

  We arrived with bunch of friends for our annual beach/pool trip for a 3 night stay at the resort. Our room was in near perfect condition it was clean and updated the bed, AC, kitchen everything was great. We had a very nice view of the pool area that is great place to be. The pool area was great with the exception of two out of three hot tubs not working right. The staff was great as always very nice and their hospitality super great. But first thing we noticed one of the elevators on building 6 was not working and the second one was barely surviving. It finally die on Sunday morning when we were going to use it to check out with all of our stuff. We end up using the stairs. Not having at least one full working elevator is a safety issue. Imagine a mother with two small children or a babies getting stuck on the elevator. With no way of knowing which number to call for emergency. The elevator does not have a maintenance chart. Totally understand the resort is fighting with insurance after the last storm but the elevator should be a number 1 priority to get it fix, replace and maintained but professional staff or a contractor that knows how to fix elevators. Not a "jack of all trades" handyman from the location. Would i come here again? Yes i will. John room 6305.

  Winter Getaway

  We recently came back from a 2-night stay at Port Royal... it was fabulous! The rooms were spacious and very clean. We used the BBQ, since we love to grill. The pools are amazing, but the water was cold due to the time of year. Thank goodness there are more than one hot tubs to soak in! We took advantage of the winter fares and got away from the city for awhile. Love that the boardwalk makes it a short trip to the beach. We will definitely come back! Port A Strong!

  Sad visit

  This place has really gotten run down. They called me the day before to tell me that the heated pool heater had broken from the cold weather and so it was no longer working. You must cancel one week before or lose your one night stay but they dont give you information of problems until the day before. When we got there the refrigerator was not working and when we called the front desk they were very short with us like it was our problem and said theyd fill out a work order. I had tons of food and frozen food and called them back and told them that I needed it working because I could not leave my stuff in an ice chest all night. They sent over someone by the name of Patrick who said he was going to go get his tools but never returned. Its funny because the front desk also told me that they have other guest who were calling with problems as well and those are just as important, yet every time we went walking around we saw Patrick, if that was even his name, hanging out with other members of the team and they didnt look like they were fixing anything. Also, the refrigerator looked like it was some thing they pulled out of the dump. The dishwasher had an issue with rusting racks. And after you ran a load you had to push the sprayer back down or you couldnt pull the bottom rack out. One of the burners on the stove was not working. The nicest thing about this resort is the pool and hot tubs. Sadly during off-season the pools are not usable because the water is too cold if the heated pool isnt working. I realize that the condo owners are the ones who are responsible for the upkeep of the condos but the maintenance crew is responsible to fix things as they break. Dont know what it will take for this to get resolved but I dont think the future of Port Royale looks promising at this point. Thank goodness the price I paid was off-season rates because during the on season you would be better off booking a flight and going to Cozumel for pretty close to the same price.
