  Disgusting place with a ton of bugs and mosquitoes

  The room and hotel itself was disgusting. The lobby had bugs all over the floor. The room had bugs and a ton of mosquitoes. The window in the bathroom had gaps and was filled with mosquitoes. I got a mosquito bite within the first 2 minutes of stepping into the room. Dirt was everywhere in the corners of the room as if they swept everything into the corner. Good thing we had a bug net which we used. Only stayed one night and went to the hotel next door called Grandview Riverside Hotel which was 100x better and cheaper. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of the Popular View Hotel. Go next door to the Grandview Riverside Hotel instead for better/cleaner rooms, better service, better Wi-Fi connection, and just basically a much better hotel.

  Nice place.

  It is a really nice place, i don't know the other people experiences but I've really enjoyed my night there. The room was big with king size bed so you can sleep comfortable. The views are good, to the river and the breakfast simple but free.

  I tried to stop there but . . .

  A dog came barking out of reception threatening to bite me. If the management is too soft and/or stupid to let an out of control dog drive away customers, they should not have customers. In addition, a dog of this type on the premises, is likely to be barking at the sky at five o'clock in the morning.

  Location Location Location right on the Song River in the middle of Vang Vieng

  Popular View is a basic very clean Accommodation. The view from your balcony is simply amazing and it changes every morning and though out the day. At the front door on the Right you have a 7 / 11 shop and on the left a motorcycle hire and laundry. Popular View is 100 meters from the morning markets and very central to the night markets and the centre of Vang Vieng. Just beside Popular View is a path down to the River where there is a bridge crossing the river to the Restaurants along the river edge or a beer with your feet in the river to cool down. The staff were amazing and helpful and very honest people. I highly recommend this beautiful place, Enjoy

  First time and last time for this hotel....

  I came to this hotel without advanced reservation. Find out that the owner is not helpful and a bit tricky on currency rate. The owner said the room is included breakfast but actually there is NO. No any staff or owner stanby at reception or office . In room TV is available but cannot turn on.
