Certainly not a "Luxury Afternoon Tea for Two"On 21 September 2020, for our 70th birthday celebration, we had very high expectations of "an unforgettable afternoon ... scrumptious afternoon tea for two... ... with a mouth-watering selection .... glass of champagne each and toast the delightful occasion in style" at the Polurrian on the Lizard. Instead we had one of the most disappointing afternoon teas of our lives! The food was far from mouth watering or scrumptious, merely mediocre, unimaginative and uninspiring. Some of it was even unidentifiable. It was a very hot day but there was no shade on the terrace or air conditioning inside. I know we should have complained at the time but we were hot, uncomfortable and massively disappointed and just wanted to leave - and we certainly didn't want a doggy bag for what we left. I contacted the Polurrian subsequently but have had no response. Just such a shame when it could have been so easy to have provided a fabulous experience rather than this pricey mediocre disappointment.

Amazing views and foodWe stayed at the 'Polurrian on the Lizard for 3 nights in November and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. The breakfasts were lovely, plenty of choice and generous portions. We ate in on the first night and the food was so good we ate in all 3 nights. I thought the way the spa pool area was organised worked very well, a 30 minute slot bookable at the beginning of each day for each party; perfect for keeping up with COVID regulations and ideal for a nice quiet swim. I can imagine this would not work quite so well during school holidays but for us it was perfect. Many thanks to the staff who were all very helpful.

Wedding ReceptionAn excellent venue for a very special wedding event. Staff were amazing from start to finish, but worth a particular mention was the.excellent job done by Aimee the Events Organiser and Sean who looked after our every need during a very long day and the next morning. Food was superb both in the evening and breakfast - big shout out to the chefs. Cant praise you guys high enough - thank you for making a very special day even more special. Would definitely book with you again

Perfect dog friendly breakSpent three lovely nights here in December. Everything was perfect, beautiful location with stunning views, great food and drink and exceptional hospitality and service, delivered with personality. We took our two dogs and they were also made to feel very welcome.

Welcome backWe needed a break from work and saw the Christmas offer and thought why not! We were greeted by Nick on reception who checked us into our fabulous room with outstanding views. We had a relaxing afternoon enjoying Mulled Wine and Christmas Cocktails in the conservatory, watching the waves till darkness fell. The evening menu was tasty and comprehensive and also catered for me as a coeliac which is a refreshing change. We finished our stay with a full English breakfast and coffee. The staff were brilliant, so polite and helpful. We will definitely be returning and recommend the Polurrian Hotel to everyone.
