  First and last time at the Polo Beach Club

  I wanted Christmas in paradise for my family of 18. I reserved (3) Ocean Front, 2 bedroom suites. My suite and other daughters family I would rate a 3 star due to dated living area, dirty kitchen countertop to kitchenware and mold & mildew in dated bathroom tubs & shower. My other daughters was the worst with very dated living space, rust on pull out sofa, scum & mildew and very dirty bathrooms. They took showers with their slippers on. Each condo is privately owned and the condo association needs to make owners liable for the condition and upgrade frequently. Bad experience and expectations given the amount of money I paid for this place. Destination Residences of Wailea did their best to make our 14 day stay more comfortable since availability elsewhere was not an option during this time. Im of Hawaiian descent and we had a very racist encounter with a Caucasian couple who lived in one of the condos. Even with this incident, it didnt take away our memorable trip but Im still sad this vacation was interrupted by the accommodations and such horrible people who claimed we didnt belong but on the contrary, they dont and are not privileged or entitled in Wailea or any other Hawaiian islands.

  Doesn't Get Any Better Than This

  What an incredible experience at Polo Beach Club with Destination Hotels! Honestly, my wife and I, along with our little boy who is almost 2, walked into our condo and couldn't believe the space and view we had! It was more than enough space for the 3 of us and within hours it felt like home! Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!!

  Beware

  Take the time to find out which side of the building you are on. The lanais on the north side of the building get no sun ever and the sunsets are blocked by the other units in the building. Yes its ocean front in that there is no building directly in front of you, but the V shape of the building means that there is buliding to the side so you only have a 90 degree view, not an uninterrupted view.

  Great stay in Wailea!

  My family and I had a wonderful stay with our friends at Destination Residences Hawaii. Polo Beach Club is a fabulous property located directly on Polo beach. The condo was equipped with four Tommy Bahama beach chairs, a beach umbrella, small ice chest and two sets of snorkel gear, perfect for spending the day at the beach! From enjoying a cup of coffee while watching whales play in the morning or gazing at the most incredible sunsets on your lanai at night...Were already planning our next visit!

  Polo Beach Club cancellations by Destination Resorts

  Has anyone else received a similar letter/email that I recently received? On January 18, 2021, we reserved Polo Beach Club #606 for Dec. 3-17. In February, Destination Resorts raised the advertised rates for other dates. Then, on March 6, they cancelled our existing reservation (see email below) and reassigned our Oceanfront gold rated unit with a Silver rated 409 Ocean View (also with a wonderful view of the Polo Beach Public picnic table and bathroom. When I called I was informed that they had raised the category of 606 from Gold to Platinum and therefore cancelled all reservations for the year. When I complained that the units were completely different, he offered me #206, which appeared to be last decorated circa 1995. We refused either unit. Mr. Hizliok, Director of Operation of Destination Resorts told us he would have his staff immediately research other offerings at similar resorts. After waiting 24 hours, I called his direct number to discover he was on leave for the week. With all confidence exhausted, we cancelled and vow to never use this Hyatt-owned company again.
