  Restful holiday apartment.

  Nice unit for a holiday. Handy to Strand Shopping Centre & Cinemas. Only 200 metres to the water. Off season - reasonably priced. 2 x bedroom high rise units aplenty at Coolie. Plenty of close restaurants and you can walk for miles along the boardwalk. Recommend for a quieter break away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise.

  Cleanliness, maintenance, care and update of facilities needed

  This is an older style apartment building (circa 1980's) built on a shopping centre with amazing views from most rooms to the ocean. It has been reasonably maintained but needs some work to bring it up to standard. Firstly, cleanliness in our bathrooms (2 bedroom unit) was poor. How can a cleaner miss mould on white grout on white tiles beggars belief (see photos). 30 seconds to spray some bleach, mould removal or a simple scrub would have eliminated this but the cleaners left it. There was an excess of dust build up on the ceiling exhaust fan which would have taken 30 seconds to clear. I don't blame the cleaners, I blame management and supervision for not keeping the cleaners to standard. This needs to be reviewed and addressed to minimise discontent of the customers - Us. Our unit had plenty of saucepans but only two lids which did not fit all so we had to compromise. A little tardy. We were there at the busiest time of year and Management rather than getting Lift service personnel over the weekend, left a note it would be attended to on Monday (eventually being fixed on Tuesday so 4 Days out of service). This reduced lift capacity from 3 to 2 and significantly affected wait times and over crowding. We had to wait for a second lift a number of times due to overcrowding. Poor form. Management should have bitten the bullet and rather than saving 'money' should have saved customer inconvenience and distress at the absolute peak period. The Pool surrounds are very old terracotta tiles and the edge of the pool is cracked. The tiles are SO SLIPPERY only a very slow walking pace was safe to avoid slipping over. Again, poor maintenance. The foosball table whilst advertised is in dire need of repair. This needs to be replaced and not noted as an item of interest in any marketing literature until rectified. The table tennis table is the same. Replacement needed. That's the bad stuff. The rooms were neat, the kitchen well appointed and in good working order. Convenience was king with you only needing to go in the lift to gain access to the shopping centre, restaurants, Cafes, Library, Movie Cinema and supermarkets only down the hall. It was just across from Coolangatta beach and right near the surf club. Total convenience here. We won't be returning. The attitude of management on repair, maintenance and cleaning is not compatible with our expectations. They were lucky to get a 3 star vote (nearly was a 2 star) and only got this for the superior convenience and views from this location.

  Lovely apartments, beautiful location, most helpful staff

  Points North is my preferred accommodation in Coolangatta, with clean, well designed apartments, breathtaking views, high standard well maintained facilities, prime location and the most friendly and helpful staff you could ever wish to meet. We have stayed at Points North several times over the past few years, and have never been disappointed in any way at all. Kudos to management and staff for providing warm, friendly, professional service. Highly recommended.

  Points north Coolangatta

  Points north Coolangatta. Stayed here for three nights early September. Perfect location across the road from flagged beach. Immaculately clean. Superb views from every room. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Couldnt fault this accommodation. Definitely be back, highly recommend.

  Apartment 5 was Filthy!!!

  Having previously stayed in Points North Apartments before and always had a great time, we booked a 2 bed apartment for a few days in January 2021. Our Grandchildren were going to be visiting us whilt we were there. When I booked I was told that the only apartment that was available was Apartment 5 and that it was unrenovated, but perfect for families. I am fine with it being unrenovated, but I am not fine with it being FILTHY!!!! The windows and screens were disgusting. This unit has a terraced grassed area out from it and would be very easy to have hosed down the filth off the windows/screens. The tracks of the doors were filled with muck that we had to vacuum out. Our Grandson who was staying with us was 7 months old and crawling, so we were very aware of all this filth. The shutters over the windows were also disgusting! We complained about the stains on the lounge and the reception staff brought us up 3 blankets to through over them so that they were safe for our Grandchildren to sit on. There were crumbs and hairs in the cutlery drawer and when we went to get the sweepbrush/shovel out of the cupboard, it had been put away filled with what someone else had obviously swept up. After seeing all the filth around, we checked the air conditioning filters and they were atrocious!!!! It would have been a LONG TIME since anybody had even looked at these. We had to spend time washing them ourselves to make it safe to be in the rooms with the air conditioning on. We were supposed to be on holiday, not cleaning your apartment!! We did not arrive before check-in time, so there is no excuse that the cleaners had to rush to get this apartment ready.... They just hadnt done their job properly. I wrote an email to lodge my complaint and sent in photos.... but nobody even bothered to reply.... We won't be staying at Points North Apartments again!!
