  Excellent Service!

  I went in for wings and it was my first time ever at Jax. The servers, Jazz, Laila and Christina, were very helpful and friendly. They made sure we get the best experience and we sure did. They were all handling food safely and following social distancing not only to us, but to the other customers as well. I would recomment and I would come back!

  Jax Grill and Lounge Restaurant

  Went there for the first time yesterday and tried the unlimited wings. I was greeted by Laila and Jazz right away. The wings were so good especially the honey garlic! Drinks by Christina was superb! Tried the piña colada and felt like i was in Hawaii! The three ladies made night out with friends extra fun!

  Just a comfortable property!

  I have always tended to rate older properties differently from newer. I mean, what can really go wrong with a new hotel other than staff? Cleanliness is almost a given. But with this trip to Grande Prairie, I wasn't sure how I felt about staying at the other motel properties that I have used over the years. COVID-19 is definitely a concern now wherever I stay so I felt I would try Podallan because of it's great reputation. Wearing my mask, I knew I had made the right choice when I came into the lobby. I sanitized my hands and check-in was flawless and with the acceptation that I had to sign the registration, it would have been a touchless experience. The room was clean and all extra items we have become used to, were removed (pens, stationary, etc.). The remote control was a sealed "CLEAN Remote". I enjoyed the easy chair in the corner as I had some reading to finish before snagging the hockey game. It was not cloth covered and I took the extra precaution of first using my disinfectant (what road warrior doesn't carry that today?). I was extra surprised by the massive towel waiting for me when I exited the shower in the morning. It would have been suitable for a beach! Checkout was not required as the paid invoice was waiting for me in the morning. I would definitely stay here again and although it is not what I would rate as a budget property, it was very reasonable for our new world reality.

  Looked forward to breakfast; whole experience disappointing

  The room was so dark it seemed like we were living in a cave. I like to read before bed, but had to get up out of bed to turn off the bedside reading light - the switch is 5 feet above the floor. It's too dark in the bathroom to see the mirror and the lighted make-up mirror only showed the top of my forehead. (I'm 5'1"). Breakfast was bacon so over-salted my mouth still hurts, lukewarm eggs, inedible sausages served on a cold plate, not --as the room menu promises--"chef-attended omelette station". There were no "waffles, fresh berry compote, whipped cream or chocolate bark", also promised on the menu in the room, and no "Chef's house-made fruit smoothie of the day". The fridge temperature was set too warm and was only cool, not cold. There's coffee in the room, but only powdered creamer. Really?? Yuck! We're moving to a different hotel for tonight.

  Best Stay

  This hotel has very comfortable beds compared to other hotels and The food at JAX was so delicious. Checkin was quick and I found NAV one of their staff member so helpful and he helped us with each and everything. The hotel was very clean and following all the covid protocols. Would stay here again for sure!
