nice place for reasonable pricestayed only one night, but enjoyed it. guy at reception really friendly and helpful, showed us way to room (need pass little patio, but for me nice style), recommended restaurants near, first place of course in hotel :-) (what he can do else?), but not only. did not want to go out and visit hotel restaurant, not many people and little higher prices, but really good food, enjoyed it a lot. also very kind and professional service. nice room, not all perfect (which costs one point), but absolutely ok. by the way, for me it was too warm, needed to reduce heating and open window. staff at check out next morning friendly too. would go there again when in Kiev.

Great location and servicesI stayed with some friends at the Podol Plaza. The room was nice and clean and the bed comfortable. The best thing to me though was having a mikvah, shul and restaurant all in one place. No need to drive around town looking for these. The entire area is within a gated area so that was a plus.

Well-located in the historic Podil districtI stayed here for four nights in May and I was really pleased with my choice. The hotel is excellently located in the historic Podil district and is very well served by public transport. I arrived at Boryspil airport and took the airport express [40mins, £2.50] to Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station. From there I transferred to the metro [Vokzalna], travelled three stops to Khreshchatyk/Maidan Nezalezhnosti [Line 2] and then two more stops to Kontraktova Ploshcha [25p] which is a two minute walk from the hotel. Kontraktova Ploscha is a transport interchange and during my trip I was able to get to all the main sights by public transport for only 25p per journey. The hotel itself is in a beautifully restored late-nineteenth century building. The room was well-appointed, clean and tidy. The restaurant served a decent breakfast each morning. I had a room at the front of the hotel which I liked but some people may be disturbed by the sound of trams rattling past early in the morning and late at night. It didnt bother me and, if it would bother you, Id suggest you just ask for a room at the back. There are numerous bars and restaurants nearby [including the superb Kanapa] and the hotel is a five minute walk from the bottom of the historic Andriivskyi Descent. There is also a supermarket on the far side of Kontraktova Ploshcha. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Kyiv.

Great place to start exploring KievThe wife and I stayed for one night in this lovely hotel in the Podil district of Kiev, which is perfect location to start walking and discovering the main sightseeing spots of the city, such as the church of Saint Andrew or Santa Sophia's cathedral. It's a safe location, the staff is very friendly and useful and there's plenty of places to eat in the surroundings. Breakfast a la carte, ais also very good.

Comfortable and convenientWe arrived in the middle of the night and were convinced the taxi driver had made a mistake when he pulled up to this wall of graffitti in a dark rather quiet street, apart from occasional rumbling trams. The street entrance was deceivingly low key, but once inside we were greeted at reception. We were advised of a daily "tax" supplement which was about £1 I think so we dutifully paid for that day. Location was great. Breakfast had plenty of choice and staff were helpful. Our shower plumbing was precarious...every time you reached the desired water temperature there was a banging shaking of the pipes and you hoped pipes would sustain 3 minutes of power. We easily walked to shops, restaurants, St Andrews walk and up to St Andrews church. We were fascinated by the market stalls along the way with military items, cameras , currency from all over the world, ghetto items, cameras etc. We were told the local trams were for local residents taking them to the suburbs. We used the underground system which was easy enough and 3 mins walk from the hotel.
