  Big hotel room and value for money

  Although hotel location is away from Taoyuan city center (about 4km away), there are small shops, restaurants and convenient stores around the vicinity of the hotel. Bus stop to Taipei city center is just around 200 meter away (Bus no. 9069). The bus will connect to few MRT stations. Journey to Taipei city center by bus is just about 40 to 45 minutes away. Although the hotel is a bit dated but it is clean and well upkeep. Rooms are big with all necessary amenities. It is value for money. The hotel also provide transport to airport and vice versa. Staff are friendly especially the airport transfer personnel. Will definitely recommend friend to this hotel in the future!

  Unpleasant Stay

  We only chose this hotel because we had an early flight out of TPE and they had a free airport shuttle. However, at check-in they had a fit about including our kids on the airport shuttle, to the point that the guy in charge ("Luke") was arguing with my wife. We asked about cancelling our reservation (booked through Expedia), and all Luke said was "talk to Expedia". Since we would have to pay anyway, we stayed. We proposed a solution to the airport shuttle issue that seemed fair, but Luke was not happy and had the other check-in person write it all down. They whole staff seemed very inflexible. We had stayed at 2 other hotels while in Taiwan, and both of those were super nice and flexible, and welcomed our kids. The Pleasant was exact opposite. To top off a bad check-in experience, the whole hotel was old. The room was worn out and badly in need of a remodel. After coming back from dinner, we found that the Wi-Fi didnt work in our room. They ended up having to move us to a different room so we could have internet. The indoor pool was fine, but kind of like the rest of the hotel; old and with a lot of rules. Plus, it is only open mornings and evenings, closed middle of the day for some reason. We will definitely never stay at this hotel again.

  Just stay somewhere else; not worth it

  There are many good hotels in Taiwan, this hotel will ruin your experience here. 1. This hotel specialises in tour groups, especially school groups. Very noisy at night, very crowded during breakfast time. 2. Although the lobby looked promising, the rooms are horribly dated and seriously needing an upgrade. - Carpet smells - Shower hose produces pathetic strands of water - Dated key-lock room access with rusty hinges - Baby cockroaches roaming in the toilets and unknown areas - Towels are not clean and has rust marks (blood marks?!). Towels have been washed down to its thinnest and heavily bleached 3. Front Desk gives off complacent vibes and has zero of the Taiwanese warmth you expect to receive at a 4 star hotel. When ask about transport arrangements, got shooed away instead and asked to settle ownself. No smiles from counter staff whatsoever. 4. Groups come and go in hordes and loud talking and laughing can be heard along the corridors. 5. Room cleaners often leave doors unlock after cleaning the room. Very irresponsible and dangerous to the customers. Thankfully nothing was lost and hence decided not to report, especially since initial feedback was badly received. Overall, the hotel is just very focus on churning money for themselves that they forsake much of the hygiene, style, quality of stay and personal touch to the areas that matter the most. It just makes you feel so irritated staying here knowing that there are definitely nicer ones out there.

  It is ok.

  When you walked through the lobby, there was a wow factor. I was expecting the room will do the same. As soon as you walked out the lift, the wow factor is gone. They still use the key to open the door. Opened the room door, you can smell dampness. Kind of unpleasant smell. The whole room is not been updated for a long while. Disappointed! Luckily I wont be coming back.

  Pleasant stay

  Hotel is a little aged and the bed was on the hard side. We were told it used to be a Holiday Inn. I dont think they did any remodeling since the sinks were avocado. Staff is exceptional, friendly and very helpful. One person went above and beyond giving us detailed directions on how to take the bus to Taipei, taxi and train to Yingge Pottery Village, and the Taoyuan night market. The hotel is not close to any shopping or attractions. The breakfast buffet offered a good assortment of food. Overall the staff is very nice and it made our staff very enjoyable.
