  Lovely, but not your typical resort

  Our family of four really enjoyed our stay here. Our apartment had everything we needed (i.e. fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer) and each of the two bedrooms had attached bathrooms. Our kids (aged 13 & 11 years old) really loved the pool area and the meals available, while pretty basic, were good value. The gardens and pool area are very well maintained, and the owners/staff are lovely and will help book tours to the reef, roc farm etc. The only caution I have for people considering staying here is that it is not a resort like you would find in Bali or Fiji (i.e. no breakfast service and wifi is not in apartments) and it is a good 10 minute drive outside of the main shopping area of Port Douglas. We found this ok as we had a hire car. There is a regular bus service that does go into town however.

  A lovely place near Port Douglas

  ery spacious, comfortable and reasonably well-equipped apartments. Although a bit dated, everything we needed was provided (including kitchen and laundry facilities). Aircon in all rooms (we stayed in a two-bed apartment). Lovely bedrooms with ample storage and ensuite bathrooms. The units on the first floor are accessible by outside stairs only. Fabulous little pool, with an unusual 'inner skin' and great landscaping around it. Very friendly staff and 'locals' (residents, who live there permanently). Lovely little bar, with coldies and made-to-order pizzas readily provided and warm invitations extended to join everyone for the live evening entertainment. Overall, a charming place - a good budget stay near the fabulous resort of Port Douglas and a good base for further exploration by car into Cape Tribulation, etc. Would return. It is somewhat dated but this is reflected in the daily rate. Otherwise, a perfectly decent place to stay, comfortable and spacious.

  Stayed at this resort for 8 nights

  Great place to stay, just a small distance from the town but excellent shuttle service available. Really helpful, room excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Room clean and quiet and very suitable for families. The resort is very kid friendly also.

  Out of the way from the hustle and bustle

  We had a top floor apartment. Even though you are on the highway, its actually very quiet at night! The accommodation is a bit out dated... but it is extremely clean ! WE had a 2 bedroom apartment which had its own en-suite, so 2 couples can use these places! The bar food is limited..but very very yummy. The service is exceptional, and they had a Thai masseus on-site as well ! Would go back back here to get away from the main drag... although if you want modern furnishings, then this is not for you..

  Out of hustle but close enough to feel part of the action

  We stayed 6 nights at plantation resort. Loved the quiet peaceful surroundings. We stayed in unit 26. Homely spacious and comfortable. Kellie and team were friendly and accommodating. Loved our stay
