Good tennis hotelLOCATION: way up above Lago di Garda in a mountainous setting. The winding road up is pretty steep, but once you are there you can enjoy fresh air, a beautiful view down to the lake, jogging in the woods and hiking on narrow mountain paths. HOTEL: consists of a main building with restaurant, bar and hotel rooms, and separate rows of bungalows. The overall impression is of comfortable functionality. ROOMS: We had a Type B apartment. This was in a row of small bungalows on the slope of a hill, with a small terrace overlooking the lake (the view was breathtaking). The apartment was on two levels. On the upper floor there was a bedroom with a king-size bed and bathroom. Through a hall you reach the kitchen which is on a kind of gallery overlooking the room downstairs. The downstairs room has a sofa bed and goes out to the terrace. All together, very much space. Also a lot of cupboard space. Important note: you are in nature, so ther might be ants. Our child unfortunately left brownie crumbs on the floor in the lower room and very soon we had ants; we used lemon juice to combat these. Also, for the heating (and it can be cold in April, you are in the mountains) we had to call reception every day to have it switched on. If I remember correctly, heating is charged extra, but you will see the apartment charges on the hotel website). FOOD: was solid. Not fantastic, but absolutely OK. You get a choice of courses to chose from for each meal in advance, and there is a salad bar. TENNIS: there are quite a few tennis courts at the hotel, but these are also used by the tennis school working with the hotel. However, at walking distance up the hill there are other courts that you can book. The tennis school of the hotel is OK quality and takes it's work quite seriously, but be careful if you write to the hotel saying you would wish to take lessons, because they take it as a firm commitment and will insist on charging you. POOL: the indoor swimming pool was good for a swim, it has a fair size and is not just a tub. GYM: is not a serious gym, just few machines, not to be compared with a real gym. OVERALL: we felt good there, the place is really OK for what it is - a rather simple but nice sports hotel. Spacious apartment, solid food, tennis, jogging and beautiful nature all together made a nice holiday. Would go there again.

Great tennisfacilities a little too far from the lakeMy family and I stayed here 7 nights this summer and very much enjoyed the view over lake Garda. The tennis facilities are great! 12 clay courts is nearly unbelievable, but Pineta has them. Thanks to the capacity we could play at any time of day, guaranteed. Do not think you can find this amount of courts elsewhere. Reception, housekeeping and most restaurant staff are very very friendly. Fitness area is well equipped, so could do my normal workout, although it should have airco - with these temperatures an open window does not do the job. Everybody was very friendly also to our dog, so we felt welcome with him. Rooms and indoor area are little outdated and for 4 a double bed and 1 bunkbed in a small room is a bit crowdy (have to admit though that the real family rooms and apartments were already taken when making the reservation). Because of the location on the hill there are limited possibilities for restaurant variation (would't book half board if I where you), unless your drive to Limone sul Garda every night - which is doable, but if you like to stroll to your restaurant from your hotel, this is not the place to be. If you are arriving from the southern end of Garda WAIT FOR THE NEXT EXIT AT LIMONE SUL GARDA, unless you have a good stomach and are up to a very nasty, very very narrow, long, very curvy road. From Limone it's only 10 minutes and the road is 1000 times better.

Breathtaking Scenery And Gracious HospitalityAbove the breathtaking scenery and picturesque mountains, pristine blue lakes and vast verdant valleys surrounding this hotel, is the kind and gracious hospitality of the hotel owners and their staff whom I had the wonderful opportunity to know in my months there(July 2013 to June 2014). In the more than 150 cities, towns and villages I have visited, this has to be the most beautiful ever. With a rented mountain bike, I was able to explore the farms, fields and valleys. Imagine being the only one around for acres and acres, with only nature for company! The lady owner and her staff have etched their warmth in my heart forever.

A slice of heaven in the mountains above Limone, Lake GardaExceptional hotel and apartments with a superb restaurant serving consistently delicious cuisine, and a wonderful bar. Excellent facilities - especially the tennis and swimming pools. The best elements of Pineta Campi are undoubtedly the exemplary reception, dining & bar staff under the ever present hands on leadership of Luigi. The Barman / Sommelier Darian would be an absolute star at any of the finest 5 star hotels or restaurants!!! This is one of the best run establishments I/we have come across around the world. Pineta Campi offers 5* quality in many areas and at reasonable prices. All of the staff are so nice and helpful that this seems to spread happiness to the guests!! (This is not common in the Garda region in my opinion). Pineta Campi is the perfect place for sporting enthusiasts, hikers, families with young or teenage children & couples seeking a romantic getaway. It is a surprising little piece of heaven up the mountains above Lake Garda.. I cannot convey how welcome they made us feel. We have made good friends with many staff & guests from around the globe!

Great resort, great viewsPros - We were given a new apartment in ca degli ulivi a short walk from the pool with all mod cons - excellent kit and very well equipped. - Worth the walk up from the pool(5 mins) - Great, clean swimming pool, with lots of space. - Decent quality restaurant with amazing lake views. - Peaceful at night and in the day - Good walking routes from the doorstep - Good COVID precautions in evidence. - good air con in each room . Cons - No shop on site if you are self-catering (30 mins walk to local bakery is okay if you are taking things easy) - Some other people state the drive is tricky but in actual fact there are only two difficult turns from the main road so like all mountain roads when you have learnt it, its okay! The surface is fine. So long as you have driven mountain roads before it should be good. - Not great service at pool bar. We didnt come here for tennis so cant rate that. But for an all-round pleasant stay, it was great. We would come again happily .
