  Disappointing

  Had a 6 night stay at Pineta in September 2017 and had high expectations but came away disappointed. The plus points. Not a bad modern looking hotel which is in a quiet part of Ruvo di Puglia and the price was very good and the room was a good size and clean and had a good view over the pool and to the sea in the distance. The bed was made up each day and towels changed and tolietries topped up so all good there. The problems. the mini bar was poor, only water a coke and a beer. No mirror in the bedroom and only a few hangers in the wardrope. Overall the bedroom was good. The main problem is the service in the hotel. In the 6 days we were there, there was never anyone at the bar. If you want a drink at anytime you need to go ask reception and most of them are not bar trained. you go to reception asking for service, they come over, try find the drink you want then you have to go back to reception to pay. One man on reception was very helpful but most other were not as were the dining room staff who could do with smiling a bit more and not looking so fed up. So service very poor and not trained well. Our biggest problem is the weekend, 3 or 4 parties which didn't finish until gone 2am and the noise was unbelievable. Thumping music after 11pm and certainly after 12am is not acceptable in a hotel with paying guests. Rang reception after 1am asking how long will this noise go on and as another review said, they hung up and didn't say a word. As another review said, I think the hotel takes more care of the party guests and shows no care to hotel guests. Probably thats were they make their money. If you want to dine in the restaurant it's horrid as there are party guests everywhere and the noise is crazy from the music. We feel as this is the only hotel in Ruvo, they think they can do whatever they want. It's a shame as the hotel looks nice and rooms are good and Ruvo is lovely but Hotel Pineta lets it's self down so much due to service and the amount of parties and functions it has. Use this hotel as a base as Ruvo is lovely and so charming and it takes minutes to walk to. Very little english is spoken in Ruvo as its not a tourist town but thats makes its all the more charming and challenge to learn some Italian. Best bet is to stay in a town B&B and sample the fabulous restaurants and bars and shops. Sorry Hotel Pineta but you have a lot to learn in the Hotel trade.

  My company booked me into this hotel for 5 nights Friday-Tuesday. On arrival I was informed correctly about breakfast time/dinner time /WiFi etc unfortunately I was not informed that the Restaurant was CLOSED on Friday and Sunday. So when I can down to dinner at 7.30pm..... Nothing!!!! A very unhelpful girl on reception ( Dannella) informed me that it was written that it was closed..... it was not written anywhere!!!in fact on my Key card it said the restaurant was open Monday till Sunday! However the very nice restaurant managed left me a cold meat/salad for the Sunday night. The Hotel caters for large groups which have their own table for dinner and breakfast and me, as a single hotel guest was pushed to one side and generally ignored! The room was nice but very uncomfortable pillows! Again at the end of my stay I was required to leave my room at 11.00 even though my taxi was not coming for me till 1.00 and the hotel was basically empty. Again it was unhelpful Dannella that would not let me have the room for an extra 2 hours!! I have been on tour for the whole month of March and this is the most unhelpful hotel I have been to.

  Pleasant modern hotel

  I think that the hotel does what it sets out to do very well. It has a good outlook and is close to the town centre. It is necessary to hire a car, although the train system is good, if rather slow! It is a good 15 minute walk to the station and there do not seem to be any taxis in town.

  Hidden gem !

  This hotel is way nicer than other 4 star hotels in the area. The rooms are modern and well decorated,the pool area is beautiful and peaceful with views on the sea. The staff are very attentive and the cleaning excellent. Right next to the town where one can wander through the beautiful streets and cafes. There is s Park right next to it with large play area for kids.
