Excellent serviceThis was our base camp at the start and finish of 6 days of hiking in the Dolomites. The rooms are extremely comfortable and they accommodated our 'complex' dietary requirements at last minute notice . But above all, the hotel and staff go out of their way to welcome you and provide most excellent service. A family run hotel at the very best.

Fantastic hospitalityFour of us stayed here for 3 nights on a recent ski weekend. This family run hotel was the perfect base for our activities. The owners son, Marco went out of his way to ensure our stay was a memorable one by transporting us to and from the ski slopes each day in the hotels van, making dinner reservations for us, and generally going beyond the call of duty when required. So too his delightful sister Anna who helped out where needed. The rooms are clean, basic and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was an abundance of choice and the quality of food on offering was great. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel so I can comment on that menu. A brief 10 min walk away is the centre of Vigo di Fassa and everything it has to offer and the views from the hotel of the surrounding mountains are pretty special. I would DEFINITELY return.

Comfortable and very friendlyWe loved the swinging chairs at the entrance with views of the mountains, perfect for pre and post dinner drinks. Nice food, (we were half board), lots of it. Good choice at breakfast. Lovely view from our balcony which was at the end of the top floor, it had a pretty sloping roof with an extra window up high giving a view of the nearest mountain. Room 327 This friendly family run hotel was very accommodating to any of our requests. Downsides? Nothing important; maybe the bathroom decor could do with updating but it was very clean and so didnt matter. Theres also a big meeting room downstairs as well so itd be a good choice for groups.

The Staff, The Staff, The StaffSpent 4 days here. Keep in mind this is a 3 star hotel and it deserves every one of those stars, but it is clearly not designed for those expecting the lap of luxury. My single room (with queen bed) was not the most spacious or elegantly appointed, but it was very clean (especially the bathroom) and because the hotel is situated n an alpine valley, I don't think there is a bad view of the Dolomites from any balcony on the property. As another reviewer aptly pointed out, sitting in the suspension chairs by the front entrance, inhaling the alpine ambiance in the early evening, was wonderful. What really gets 5 stars from me is the service and the staff, in conjunction with the dining experience. Unlike the U.S., the vast majority of European countries consider breakfast both a noun and a verb : - ). The options for breakfast are amazing and the dinners were equally sumptuous. Most appreciated by me was the extra effort the staff took to accommodate my plant based (vegan diet). For an environment steeped in carnivores (think sausages, pork, veal, beef, fish, etc. etc.) each night the chef made an entre specifically for me. One of the serving staff took me under her wing, each breakfast and dinner pointing out everything that I could and could not eat at the salad/appetizer buffet. Given the circumstances (i.e., their lack of vegan cooking experience) some of the dishes were not "great", but I could have cared less because I was so impressed with their efforts.
