  Basic hotel

  This hotel is a very basic hotel. I was staying with my wife in a room with only 1 power socket outlet. The road outside was very noisy with cars passing by even in wee hours. Bathroom is small and barely able to turn around when shower screen is closed. Clean but not too comfortable. Pillows are very very thin. Front desk operators were very helpful and friendly. Even helped to print out some documents. Breakfast was decent. There are 2-3 bakery shops nearby. Bus stops are nearby too and very convenient to buy tickets by the kiosk next to bus stops.

  Basic but comfortable with a nice bar

  I stayed here for a conference and found the rooms simple but comfortable. There was some noise from the road but the windows were double-glazed so that helped. There is a nice bar downstairs which is open all hours, and the breakfast was good. There are no tea or coffee facilities in the room. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It is very close to the world-heritage listed coal mine at Zeche Zollverein (about 15 min walk or 5 mins on the tram). Taxi from Essen station was about 15 Euro.

  Messe Essen Spiel 2015

  I was staying here for 3 days last year October while visiting Essen Spiel 2015. Very pleasant Petul Hotel is. Quite spacious room with proper and clean bathroom. Wifi connection quick enough but could be better, at least its for free. Restaurant downstairs very good with enough choice of food for breakfast. All amenities that you need are in the room. Enough parking spots to accommodate cars, good connection with city center and Messe Essen. I have noticed that they have topped their prices dramatically this year. Not competitive any more

  Ok room but a bit small

  Hotel: The outside looks more colorful than the inside and inside it's just a regular hotel. Price: prices are ok for what you get. Unless when there is something to do in the messe! Room: The room was tiny and felt like an attic room, there was a desk but too small to work at so didn't have a function. bathroom: standard, nothing special. neighborhood: A supermarket is close by and it's quite a distance from the center, you can't walk it to be honest. There are better hotels closer to the city center (also a good Petul one!) Parking: They have own parking spots but they fill up fast, you can also park at the street but watch out for the times it's allowed so you won;t get fined! Overall:

  It was business trip - calm, good place, nice staff, good food, no problem with parking.

  Really good small hotel for business trip. Nice and helpfull staff, rooms was clean. Parking wa no problem! Surroundings are mostly turkish, but really good small restaurants. Breakfast are good! For this price? Very affordable!
