  Disgusting service

  I normally don't write bad reviews unless I found the hotel absolutely terrible. And believe me, If I could give this hotel no stars I would. So I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights last week as my boyfriend was visiting and we couldn't stay at mine and this hotel was near to my place of work so therefore very convenient. We arrived on the sunday, it looked okay ... bit in the middle of nowhere and was above a Lidl which was a bit odd but you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover as they say. The room was okay - not really like the photos but it was spacious and had a kitchen which was good. The 'high-tec' shower didn't really work and would either be freezing or burning hot but that's my only complaint about the room itself. The location is good for the daytime ... but at night the trains don't go there after 00.30 which meant paying 35 euros for a taxi from Essen Hbf and on another night 52 euros for an ICE from Bonn (or waiting for the first train at about 4.30am). Now for the major complaint ... 3 days after leaving the hotel I received an email to state that the housekeeping staff had found "irremovable stains" on the TV and bedside table and that they were charging me 120 euros for these damages. The funny thing being that, during our stay we put a glass of water on the bedside tables and we didn't even use the TV table. I phoned and spoke to a rude member of staff who stated that we had definitely done it. I am still waiting to hear back after telling them that I have no intention of paying for these so-called damages unless they can provide evidence. So please be careful or you may end up being charged half the price of the room for "damages"!!

  Excellent Facilities, Not Near City Centre

  Booked this hotel to save a trip back; only stayed one night, it was the cheapest in the area, and considering the facilities on offer it is more of an apartment than a hotel room. Check-in was easy over the intercoms and collecting the keys from the key cabinet; in the room a few leaflets of things to do were available. The apartment was clean, well laid out and had plenty of space. For the standard 'room' you got a small kitchenette with all cutlery, plates and cookware, a very large bathroom with an impressive super shower with many features there is also a washing machine. In the main room was a large bed (made up of two single beds) a large comfy sofa, table and chairs and a TV, wardrobe etc. The apartment had everything and more than I needed. I can't complain, I didn't have any issues, slept OK, was quiet didn't hear road noise. It is great if you want to explore the area or just looking for a cheap alternative when passing through. It's a great little place, if you just want to get away from it for a weekend etc, for my one night I would use it again. Dahlhausen is nice enough, I didn't explore, but you are right by the s-bahn train station, and tram stop (u-bahn) which takes you straight to Bochum centre in approximately 20/25 mins. I was with the car so it took me about 15 minutes from Essen and 10 minutes from Bochum centre to get to the hotel. It is placed right above a Lidl with it's own private parking.

  Practical and OK

  This "Hotel" consists of a number of apartments, grouped together on the first floor over a "Lidl" in the centre of Bochum-Dahlhausen. Can't be missed. Practical: shop, coffee & bakery down below, plenty space for your car, and train-station 50 meters away. Why here? Good location to start a trip on your bicycle along the Ruhr and then return by train. Apartment itself is spacious and clean. Beds are good, as is the shower. Basic kitchen with all you need to make a meal. Would go back here. A word about checking-in: there is no life-person there. All is done locally per phone. Nice: bike-repairing facility in the storage-room.

  Great apartment - perfect location for S-Bahn & tram

  We stayed Fri/Sat nights. Well appointed apartment - comfy bed, comfy sofa, dining table/chairs (two in fact!), little kitchen, nice bathroom with washing machine also. Our apartment had triple aspect views, which I think was not the norm for the other rooms; also, we had the primary view over the S-bahn station which was perfectly quiet. Very useful being above a Lidl & a bakery - the Lidl is closed on Sunday (as expected), but the bakery was open on Sunday until noon & also served coffee & had tables if you wanted breakfast. I could hear the store announcements in the Lidl below on the Saturday morning though!!! The S-bahn links direct to Essen for easy connection to DUS airport. Also, the tram stop (318 route I think) into central Bochum was only 30m from the hotel & ran all night. Not much going on in Dalhausen itself, but we were there to visit friends living locally, so this was perfect. Odd check-in process though (no check-in desk, just a phone) & glad we had our German friends (that we were visiting) to help us with the check-in phone call. Really happy with our stay overall.

  Apartamentos cómodos. Supermercado debajo del hotel y cafetería. Lugar tranquilo y rodeado de naturaleza. Teniendo coche lugar ideal para descansar y poder visitar otros lugares durante el día. A 10 minutos de la autopista.
