  Contras:La ventana de la habitación no se abría, que no es muy importante porque mejor cerrada que abierta, pero habría estado mejor si se hubiese podido abrir. La ducha no tragaba demasiado deprisa y el agua no salía muy caliente. En el lavabo no había un monomando, que también habría sido más cómodo. Pros:La relación calidad precio. Este alojamiento no tiene ningún lujo pero la habitación estaba limpia y la cama era cómoda.

  Fabulous break

  Having not felt comfortable travelling to Cornwall in the summer holidays, the staff at the Pentire Hotel were very happy for us to rearrange our holiday to the half term holiday in October. The hotel is extremely COVID secure and the staff are friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is a little tired in places, the staff more than make up for it and we were made to feel very welcome. The bistro is great, serving very good food - the menu is so varied we ate there every night of our stay except one. Service can be a little slow when they are busy but we weren't in a rush! Lovely large bar area to sit in where you can safely socially distance with table service. We look forward to returning in the future.

  Great staff.

  Stayed for 5 nights B&B. Temperature check at entrance throughout stay, multiple hand sanitisers and efficient one-way system throughout hotel. Large breakfast menu, hot items cooked to order. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Ten out of ten for coping so well in these trying times.

  Great Hotel, good location, fantastic staff!

  Booked a three night break here early December 2020. Seaview room which was great, good size room and thoroughly cleaned prior to our stay. Due to Covid-19 the room was not entered by staff during the stay which was reassuring, although any extras you required for the room, tea, coffee milk, clean towels etc could be collected from reception, sealed. Everything was COVID-19 compliant, everyone wearing face masks, temperature checks, and even cutlery sealed in a sterile packet. What was outstanding about the hotel was their staff. During the course of our three days we were looked after by Dan and his small team. The two other lads front of house and two female receptionist. They really were first class and gave exemplary service throughout. As somebody who is gluten intolerant I was very surprised with the amount of food on the menu which was available to me. We had sandwiches for lunch two days which were fantastic and on the last night we shared a pizza as we werent that hungry. They did a gluten-free base and a 50-50 split on the toppings. Nothing was too much problem and the food was very good. I have to mention the breakfast as prior to this stay I wasnt sure how much of it would be available to me being gluten intolerant. However the breakfast turned out to be one of the Best breakfast Ive had in a hotel. Gluten-free toast available, choice of cooked eggs and even the sausage was gluten-free although you wouldnt know it! The cooked breakfast was superb with quality ingredients on the plate. I have attached a breakfast menu, however the photo of the cooked breakfast was an after thought. I think you can book or walk in for breakfast as non residents, but please check. We had two or three mugs of tea with breakfast so dont look at previous reviews which stated staff were reluctant to give people a second mug - nothing was too much trouble. The lounge area has recently been redecorated and looks superb with lovely chairs and tables. This area incorporates the bar and dogs are allowed. The bar prices are very competitive and not what you would expect from this class of hotel, when we compared the bar prices to another hotel not too far away, drinks were on average 25 to 35% more there than The Pentire, inc things like coffees. I have friends that live local and use this as their regular it is so reasonable. Having owned a pub, which had a restaurant and bed and breakfast rooms, I can be over critical of Accommodation and Food. I have to say this was Superb and we intend to return in February with friends, if Covid-19 allow us. Well done to Dan and his Team!

  Christmas 2020 - Fantastic Stay!

  The hotel was well prepared with regard to Covid security. Temperature was taken each time one re-entered the hotel, hand sanitizers were plentiful throughout, the one-way system worked very well and everyone wore masks in the public areas. The room was sealed on arrival and was clean from top to bottom; it had recently been refurbished, just the right temperature and very comfortable for me and my dog! The food, as always, was excellent and the dining room was beautifully dressed on Christmas Day. The tables were 'socially distanced' but communication between tables and passing through the dining room was friendly and relaxed - a tribute to the staff! The staff worked their socks off, it was table service for all meals and for drinks; nothing was too much trouble and in such stressful circumstances, not that residents were stressed! Each year I come there's always something new! This year more bedrooms have been refurbished as well as the bar and entertainments room. I want to commend the staff who managed to balance 'Covid ' security whilst maintaining a warm, relaxing and secure environment for the guests. I will be back again next year!
