Beautiful view, fantastic location, and very kind ownerAlbergo Pensione Italia is just a short walk from the ferry terminal maybe 5 minutes or so. We arrived in the evening, so we were pleasantly surprised in the morning to see just how beautiful the view from our balcony was! Unfortunately, our time in Capri was a bit of a nightmare. We rented a scooter and were involved in an accident. I had to go to the emergency room on the island. Thankfully, the owner of Albergo Pensione was very kind and helpful. He let us borrow an ice pack for free, and on the day we left, he drove us to the ferry terminal personally in his own vehicle. Talk about service! So, two recommendations for Capri visitors: Stay at Albergo Pensione Italia, and DON'T RENT A SCOOTER!

Excellent service, OK hotelThis is a good 2* hotel. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a bit dated, and the bathrooms are small - turning around in the shower may well send the temperature rocketing (if you knock the tap). The hotel is right on a main road and without a/c so prepared for it to be noisy if you leave the windows open - the double glazing is very good if closed. To be honest most of the noise came from inside the hotel, which is very echoy, and the rooms are not at all sound insulated - you can hear EXACTLY what the neighbours, or people in the corridor are up to. Capri prices too...

Yesterday's charmOne night in Marina Grande, Capri. The albergo was somewhat outdated. I felt jumping back to the fifties. But somehow I enjoyed the feeling if the oldest hotel of Marina Grande. The elderly man in the reception was very helpful. The room was clean. The breakfast was not worth the price if 10 euros, unfortunately.

Lovely But Bring Youre EarplugsFriendly, helpful owners who have lived on Capri all their lives and know everything about the island are a definite advantage to this hotel Great location above the main port, but unfortunately the hotel is right on a bend of the main street, where everyone who has a scooter decides to accelerate out of the corner and up the hill No double glazing, so no need to set an alarm for an early morning excursion The rooms are clean and tidy and of a good size If you are a heavy sleeper, or dont mind traffic noise, this family run hotel offers good value for your money and its location makes it a good choice to explore the island

Expert proprietor knows how to give great service and adviceWe only stayed here for one night but the proprietor Fillipo has stood out by the excellent information he provided with cheerful enthusiasm. As non speakers of Italian we were very happy that Fillipo was so fluent in English. This was a real bonus for us. He made us change our plans for the better. Forget your guide book if you stay here, just ask Fillipo. This is a family run business which has been in the family for several generations. When I thanked Fillipo for his sage advice he merely pointed out that he had learned from his father and grandfather before him. I like this sort of family heritage and if you do then I recommend this place. Good AC, a fridge and TV. All standard, it's the helpfulness and good advice that stands out. We were in room 3 with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Just perfect!
