  Ironman 2015

  Great central hotel to stay at during Ironman Austria. Hotel is located pretty much in the centre of the town (15 min walk from train station and 5 mins from bus station). They provided a free shuttle bus to and from the event for both competitors and spectators. Also provided early breakfast at 4am on the morning of the Ironman. Overall great place to stay during the ironman.

  Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

  The pension itself and the service at the reception desk are like two-faced beings. We were greeted by someone who just took our personal details and offered - upon our request - a map of the city. No recommendations for visiting local festivity that took place just round the corner. It was like an absolute minimum for welcoming guests, but nothing above that. The other receptionist was super-friendly, helping with leaving the car-park, and with some nice chat at the checkout. Also saw him fixing one of the bikes offered to hotel guests - with the other receptionists we would not even imagine that there were any bikes for the patrons. The rooms are clean and well-isolated from any possible noise in the hallway (double door - wonderful idea). However, the bathrooms are outdated and the closet was refurbished only on the outside (the inner part belonged to the 70's). Perhaps it is just the Austrian way of fixing and re-juvenating - if something's working correctly, let's not change it. Makes sense to me!

  Hotel parking is not for the faint-hearted

  We chose this hotel primarily because it offers free parking. It takes a bit of maneuvering to negotiate the narrow entrance before you find yourself in a narrow parking lot. It takes even more maneuvering to get out. Luckily it was a weekend so all on-street parking was free - we just parked in one of the streets not far from the hotel. If you are coming with a car that's bigger than a Smart, I recommend you do the same. Otherwise, the receptionist was charmingly clueless, breakfast decent for a 3-star hotel. The room was a standard size with an unreasonably huge bathroom, almost the size of the bedroom itself (perhaps it was just our room). Oh and there is no lift/elevator!

  Great little hotel

  Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. No lift unfortunately but this was stated before we booked so no grumble, even though we were on 3rd floor. Bed was comfy, bathroom was dated with a brown suite that looked circa 1970s and could do with updating. Only criticism would be that TV had no English Channel at all, but overall a decent hotel.

  Great location in town centre

  A group of us stayed her for Ironman 2018. They provided excellent correspondence prior to the event. All of the staff were really helpful. Christian was the most help and was able to provide us with any information we required. He also stayed up really late on race night transferring the last of the group back to the hotel after 01.00am on Monday morning, and that was after making multiple trips backwards and forwards to the race site. The rooms are generally quiet and beds are comfy. There is only one pillow per person - ask if you want more. A continental breakfast is included with quite a limited choice, although boiled eggs are available on request. There are no tea/coffee making facilities within the hotel outside of breakfast so take a travel kettle if you need this. Make sure you request a room with a bath if you want one.
