  Amazing experience

  We went to Tokashiki in the End of May. We contacted Sea Friend in advance and they have offered to pick us up from the ferry. The location couldn't be better - just a short walk from the Aharen beach. There are also restaurants and a shop in the 2 minutes walking distance. The rooms were specious enough, in Japanese standards. The crew is VERY helpful and nice. We asked to book us for a snorkeling run, and the arranged everything on the next day: We were given wetsuits, vests and masks. Then we were driven by the Sea Friend van to the beach and went on a boat (they have their own) to a key location for diving and snorkeling. Our instructor, Saori san was very helpful and it was a very nice experience. Very recommended, we will be back!

  Best place to stay in Tokashiki

  Pension sea friend is in front of the main beach of Tokashiki, Aharen! They are very kind people, very useful services they offer pick up service from port for free and also during the vacation if you need to go to the port to visit other Kerama islands they pick you up every time! They have also provide to guest discount for snorkelling staff! The restaurant of the hotel is really good and offer lot of variety of Japanese cuisine! Our holiday cant be better!

  A basic base.

  If you just need a basic base in Aharen and not wanting to dig to deep into your pockets, Sea Friend is a good option. We came in low season, in December and there was not so many other options in the village. It was just a I said, a basic base for bags, sleep and Wi Fi. Breakfast was actually alright if you like the Japanese kind. If you are only to the continental kind, you will want to give it a miss I think, but what do I know. The staff is friendly and helpful and all I could have wanted was a big bigger room, however, thats possibly because it was in winter and the weather was not always just lounge around at the amazing beach.

  Friendly and helpful English speaking staff

  I dont have the picture of the room but it was decent. Pick-up and drop off from the ferry terminal was available and pick-up place for diving and restaurant was just few steps. Unfortunately I had to leave the island due to the weather condition of having no ferry the next day back to Naha, the front desk staff helped cancelling the second days fee with no cost and also helped with other arrangements as I dont speak Japanese. Boths English was okay but Im grateful for them being helpful. Bathroom and toilet was shared but I only saw shoes and heard some footsteps but didnt really bumped into anyone when using it. Maybe it was a ghost idk

  The beach is fantastic, the "hotel" is just a place to stay and enjoy this paradise

  I would not say that the hotel is truly a "hotel" more like a hostel of a sort. Very basic, somewhat clean, and located conveniently about 50m from the beach. The breakfast could have been a bit better. It was annoying to have been kicked out at 9 am precisely by the staff. Make sure you check out by 10 am, even though the ferry is not until 4.00 or 4.30 pm, because you will be charged 2,500 yen for overstaying. That is rather annoying, because when we arrived was 11 am, and had to stay around with our luggage until 2 or 3 pm to check in, then on the way out, we had the same experience. Mercifully, the hotel lets you leave at your own risk the luggage at the counter room. There is a nice bar that is worth checking out, called something like One and ½ Half or like that. Very authentic, check it out. If you are lucky, you will get some craft beer too. We were not so lucky and had to resort to the ordinary Orion draft - a dreadful drink, reminiscent to Budwiser.
