Magical Star of a PensionI have so much problem remembering the name of this Pension which means Wish Upon A star .. But me and my friend had such a lovely stay here that it is like being transported to magic land. The owners , a husband and wife team are such a lovely couple and while the wife cant speak English , the husband can. The pension is quite far away from the main city and hence can be quite inconvenient when you dont have a car. But the owner was really kind to shuttle us from the train station and back. But it was great from the time he picked us up in his 4wd , driving up the hill with the wind blowing , you know that the place is kinda special. this lovely huge pension overlooks vineyard , withing walking distance of the winery and has a lovely view of Furano as it is located on the hill. We were given the Forrest Gump room which had everything in peach right to the TV. Lovely rooms with wifi and great views of the outside. The Mongolian BBQ dinner that dinner was sumptous , the wife is such a great cook along with breakfast next morning. The whole house is like a doll-house with decors and a surrounding countryside that is just so relaxing. Breakfast is served in the huge room with view of Furano. But for the Japanese experience, there is a Tatami room but that is not the specialy of Hoshini Negaiwo. White painted fences, huge teddy bears, fireside and fabulous views its like you made a wish and was transported to magicland. We werent sure about staying in furano but this place made our two nights there very special esp our last night when we ended our tour at the winery then walked up Furano wine restaurant passing by a lovely lavender , took tons of pictures, had a lovely dinner and walked back down to the Pension. There is a room at the attic too which is really romantic and a shared jacuzzi which is great after a tiring day's walk. Definitely would recommend this place

A place where you feel like home. It's a nicely decorated pension with a homely environment. The owner is not fluent in English but they are indeed friendly and helpful sugessting places to visit during my stay. The location is near the winery, it would be convenient if you're driving.

Great views, near Campana RokkateiPicking a pension in Furano / Biei is about picking the vision of the owner. This pension has a travelling/nautical theme with lots of memorabilia from different era and countries that give it its character. We stayed in a Japanese style room (8 tatami), with the view of green fields and distant mountains. The dining hall has the best view and it's very charming in the morning when the sun shines in. The owner served us welcome drinks and some sweet. The breakfast is awesome with all the best produce from Hokkaido -- Furano milk, white corn, Irish cobbler, tomato and watermelon. But here comes the bad news -- living in a pension like this is like living with lots of strangers in a big house. Soundproofing is non-existent and our room (Evita) is right next to the sink, the washroom and the stairs, so that whenever any guest move around at night, we'd hear it. Worse still, the pension arranges hot air balloon tour that starts at 6 am for guests. That means around 4:30 in the morning, guests start to brush their teeth and use the washroom and walk down the stairs. That means we were woken up earlier than we planned. In summer, they have Nepalese staff who are also rafting coaches. The owner himself and his wife also speak some English. All in all, it's a nice place to stay. Maybe the experience will be different if we were given another room. I should also mention the pension charges a very reasonable fee, maybe a couple thousand yen per person less than others. It's also conveniently located, just minutes away from Campana della Rokkatei, the juice factory and the wine factory by car. It's about 10 minutes away from downtown Furano.

Nice B&B, friendly staff....The place is cute. Its a combination of Japanese and western style design. The owners likes to collect stuff...posters, toys, home decor, everything. The staff was very kind and they try very hard to maintain the place. But I just don't feel like it's the value for money kind of place.
