  Too noisy

  The room itself was lovely. Very clean, new carpet, bed very comfy!! However the windows in the bathroom would not fully close. We could smell the smoke from the smoking area, the wind was terrible and kept on banging all the doors. In the end we had to put chairs behind the doors to stop the banging. The noise from the bar kept us awake and when the bar closed you could hear the staff cleaning up and throwing bottles away in the bins! Terrible nights sleep!

  Christmas break

  Room was nice and clean, the staff were friendly and even though we stayed over Christmas the maid still called on Christmas Day asking if we needed anything. Could here the music from downstairs but that stopped at midnight and was expected when staying over a bar. The bars downstairs were nice and the cocktail bar was quiet enough to be able to talk to each other. Would happily stay there again

  Worst ever hotel stay

  Rooms was tired, poorly maintained, not clean and smoked in previously.1st night, stray seasonal lights dangling outside window banging away, kept my wife up.2nd night we had too leave due too electrical fault, no lighting, no heating, no hot water, no solution, no alternative was offered. We were not compensated and all correspondence was ignored, all we got from staff was email us on Monday, they did nothing

  Great value

  Have called for drink in the well stocked,unpretentious,comfy bar a number of times but first time we tried the accommodation.The rooms are up a steep flight of stairs straight off the street but the very reasonably priced rooms are well worth the climb.We had a room overlooking Lord Street.This was a decent sized ensuite room with king size bed,table and leather chairs overlooking Lord Street.The linen,towels,were good quality and the room was generally very clean and simply but well furnished.There was even an iron and ironing board for those that fancy that kind of thing.A little traffic noise early morning.A well run establishment.Friendly bar staff around to answer any queries.All in all a very pleasant stay.

  Disappointed.

  Most of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. However we did have a few issues with the room due to it not being very clean. I did have to re-tune the tv all we had was bbc1. The bed was so uncomfortable it was like sleeping on concrete. We did receive a discount. Wouldn't recommend for families but ideal just for a bed to crash after a night out
