  Ok value and location 10 min from Port

  [-] We (2 females on their 20s) arrived to the port after taking the all night ferry from Athens. We arrived around 6AM and walked to a little building next to the deck where they had an information desk and some car rental offices, and 2 cafes. The information desk was closed and there were few people around except the people in the cafes/car rental. We picked up a couple of hotel cards (since we didnt book any hotels) and called hotel pasiphae and they had availability for 1 night for 55 Euros, breakfast included for a twin bed room. So, we used the hotel for only 1 night, and we had to leave the next morning at 7AM to catch the next Ferry at 8:15AM to Santorini. Positives: -Clean room/bathroom, quiet -Relative good location, taxi from port was 5 Euros, and we walk about 15 min to the main bus station (main bus station) that took us to the knossos castle. That bus station also had buses leaving for other parts of crete. -Value 55 Euros, the room was decent, and clean, had a refrigerator, good A/C and balcony didnt face a noisy street. -Service, depending who is taking care of the checkin-check out process, the lady that did our check out at 7AM was super nice and efficient and she gave us a bag of grapes to take to our ferry ride to Santorini. She also called the taxi and the taxi driver was waiting for us, and charge us 5 Euro back to the port. -You could walk to the center of town, where they have the main shopping and dining area. You can also walk to the Venetian fort. So the location for main Heraklion is not bad. (some of the walking is down hill or up hill, is almost NEVER flat!) Neutral-Negative: The lady that did our check in was smoking ALL the time! UFF and that was were the breakfast area was located....we never sat to have breakfast there, so no clue about the quality of their breakfast. *I will stay here only if I have 1-2 nights, and will stay in Heraklion, but we heard that Chania is the really beautiful place to be in Greece.

  Good Value, warm welcome.

  A clean comfortable hotel, good bathroom and shower facilities, wonderfully warm and caring hosts. I was travelling alone as were many other guests who I became friends with. The owners make you feel part of the family. Breakfasts looked and tasted good, and the Hotel is well situated for getting around Malia. A great little budget bed and breakfast
