  Old - Needs an Update

  Family run hotel. I'll start with the Pros, price wise its average, located in a very peaceful area, good for relaxation and short trip out of the city. Food is decently priced and good. Spa is also good for the price. This place use to be pretty empty before the opening of Riva Cafe. And here comes the Cons: Since its a famiy run hotel, don't expect service like big hotels that are run by professional management. Rooms are little old and worn, could use an update. Cleanliness can be improve. Staff performance average. Riva Cafe - started by the owners son which has became an instant hit with Thais because of the river view and you can get your feet wet while sipping coffee. It is pretty full even on weekdays, so don't even bother coming on weekends as parking is very limited. Coffee is weak, but food is average - good. They need better desert selection. Its offers a nice view of the river and atmosphere, thats the only reason worth visiting. Overall the hotel part could be better if it gets a small update.

  Rats ate our soap

  We stayed in a villa. The idea and layout of Parn Dhevi is actually quite brilliant. Unique Lanna-style Thai houses are situated on stilts over water-filled land. Located near a river, there's room for a scenic restaurant and floating café. However, the property is in need of renovation. We left two bars of soap in the outdoor bathroom after our evening shower (we kept other toiletries, it's common sense you don't leave these things in outdoor bathrooms). An hour later, we heard sounds above our heads. It was thunderous, roof tiles fell down. After investigating, we found one small soap missing and the other small bar of soap had teeth marks. So... rats are the culprit... rats the size of cats. For the price, it's a good place to stay if you want a few days out of Bangkok. The river is peaceful, and spa facilities seem great as well. Staff are helpful, very friendly.

  Worst Resort in Bangkok?

  What is there to say - this is the worst place we ever stayed in. The place is not only old but also totally dilapidated, dirty and in part dangerous to be in. We arrived late in the evening so things looked reasonable at first glance. In the morning - the true picture emerged. I am at a loss how someone can describe this place as family run with warm welcome and a good place to stay - for whatever the price. We just visited the place and must say its a dump; run by an incompetent and unfriendly manager it is definitely not a family run business. It is one thing to say the place is old - I can cope with staying in old places. But dirty, broken down places give me the creeps. Toilet lid and bowl stained with caked on urine - dirty and iced up bar fridge - filthy floors and walls - broken and from woodworms eaten up wooden pathway over a smelly mosquito infested pond - holes in roof (broken tiles) as big as a watermelon - Internet, although promised, is hardly working at all - dirty bedsheets and for breakfast either Rice Soup or Bacon and eggs (they call it Continental Breakfast) the list goes on and on. When you complain about the dirty bedsheets and dirty toilet - the answer is a lapidary You should have read the user comments. Thats what we are. We change nothing. If you dont like what you see - go find a different place ... not sure how that counts as customer service. I am not kidding you - that is what we were told. In case you doubt the translation - we are speaking Thai perfectly. Dont believe me? I have posted pictures taken on Dec. 13 2016 Arrived Tuesday - left next day. I will ask Agoda for a refund and the owner will get a report (we did manage to find out who the actual owner is).

  Poor area development

  I decided to give this place a try after I visited their riverside floating cafe Riva and saw a glimpse of their peaceful atmosphere of their hotel section. The place is nice and the room is acceptable considering it is situated by the river and run by family members. I expected nothing more than a working utilities which are alright (apart from the broken toilet seat). The part that I find unacceptable the most is their parking space which they reserved for us on the first day but not on our departure date (which was still before noon - check out time). I understand that the place consists of two more sections, being one of the most promising destinations for weekenders who look forward to take photos and share and their social media which means the traffic of the people coming in and out just to enjoy the river view is extremely high (which is as aforementioned, we are coming from the guest of that category too) but, to prevent us to park in the priority area on our departure date, isnt that too much? My conclusion here is, you may come here with the least expectation on accommodation, food and service and still enjoy the river view. Apart from that, nothing here will satisfy you. Or even at their worst, their service can prevent you from your next visit. Once is more than enough. Thank you.

  Beautiful Boutique Resort in the Green Nature and by the River

  We drive one and half hour away from Bangkok. This resort is iconic for authentic Thai house located in the green. The house was a bit old but clean. The weather was high humid and heat during day time. Its quiet and peaceful staying within the resort during day time. Spa also available at the reception house but we did't try. Decoration was very antique and not much of in-room facility as well as amenity. Free wifi was included. There s riva bistro cafe serving Thai and Italian dishes, we tried it, the foods were tasty and satisfying. We ordered two pizzas with different toppings, spaghetti and some bakery. The food was served fast and fresh, of course tasty, service was brilliant, the manager was taking god care of us. This Riva was very busy for the weekend during lunch till later afternoon from what we observed. The signature seating was at balcony seats along the cafe. Restaurant also serve self serviced pure water (with slice lime inside) very healthy and fresh welcome drink for all clients who were on the queue.
