We had a lovely stay!We stayed here for one night in February as were flying out of Christchurch, but as I wanted to see something of the city we chose this hotel based on location. We had a premier executive room which was huge! Patio doors opened on to a balcony, there was a sofa and chairs, a kitchen area, dining table and a fabuolus bathroom! The bed was massive and very comfy. We were greeted at reception by a lovely guy who told us about the things they'd put in place re coronavirus - extra cleaning of high traffic areas, constant cleaning of door handles, lift buttons etc - we were very impressed as they were the first hotel of our trip to even mention coronavirus! We were able to park for free on the top level of the multi storey car park. We overlooked the park so we walked into the city through there and in to the Botanic Gardens , it's a long walk but definitely worth it! Our room overlooked the busy crossroads, but with the windows shut and the air con on we didn't really notice the traffic noise. We enjoyed our stay here and would return.

Go elsewhereBooked this hotel for location and apparent facilities. The good bits: large room, very comfortable bed, lovely cleaner. The bad bits - Noise - from the road outside; all night and constant. Also from music in the building that went all night finally finished at 8am on Sunday. Management not interested at all. Honestly - find somewhere else. Anywhere......

Great spot and so close to cityWe stayed a week and we really happy with this hotel . The rooms are really spacious and the bed very comfortable although pillows a little large for my liking. The shower was good and also had a bath with was lovely after a day of walking. The staff at reception were really nice and welcoming. We had a room by busy road but with double glazing this was not a problem. Hagley park straight across the road makes a delightful walk into the city. I would happily stay again. They also had facillities to do your own laundry at a reasonable cost which was a bonus.Really clean as well which is a very good sign.

Excellent SpotWeve stayed twice at Parkview and love it. The location is great, its walking distance to the city through the lovely Hagley Park and is just down the road from Orchid Thai where a substantial and tasty meal is guaranteed. The rooms are very clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and everything required for self catering. The heat pump/aircon unit is a bonus for those hot Canterbury summer days or freezing winter ones. Weve stayed in many different places in ChCh over the years however in Parkview weve found somewhere we expect to return to many times.

Hotel for a motel priceIt provides all standard facilities albeit within the range of a motel. Close to a lot of quick bites and fuel stations. Parking is a tad tricky and check check out at odd hours needs to be worked out prior because there is no 24 hour person at the reception.
