  Excellent Service with Superb Restaurant

  A very friendly hotel with good level of accommodation. The staff are excellent and nothing was too much trouble. They even took the time to find as many brochures on the attractions in the area written in english. The food was outstanding and our evening meal in their Aubergine Restaurant was really exceptional. You must try their 'Cold Dog' dessert which was a chocolate delight with mango sorbet. The trout is caught in the river that runs almost to the side of the hotel. A very good base to explore the delights of this region of Saxony

  Great hotel for the Saxon Switzerland.

  This is a great hotel for the price. It says it is three star, but feels more like a four star. Clean. Helpful staff. Good restaurant. Nice rooms. Great location for touring the Saxon Switzerland. If you would like to visit a part of Germany that has not been overrun by American tourists, this is the area and hotel for you. Only issue might be very limited English spoken, but hey, this is Germany.

  Good base for travels within the Saechsische Schweitz

  We stayed with our family (two adults, two teens) in two separate rooms for four nights on the top floor. The rooms are nice and clean, albeit a bit small given that both rooms had part of the room rendered unusable due to one wall being slant as part of the roof, so one would have to crawl on all fours make use of that space. There are two common balconies on this floor which offer very nice views of the neighborhood and the hills in the distance. Breakfast and dinner were included in our package, and both were top notch. This is a small hotel, so one should not expect the breakfast buffet spread to be like in a large resort, but it had all the delicacies one would expect from a solid German breakfast. I'd also like point out our waitress Jenny for being exemplary in conduct and service. The main reason why I only give four stars is that the hotel charges extra for access to their wireless internet. This is one of my pet peeves, I simply cannot understand how a hotel (of any size) fails to understand that internet access nowadays is a must-have for modern travelers and should be inclusive, just like hot water or fresh towels. The town itself is VERY quiet, but it serves as a good base to explore this beautiful region in the east of Germany.
