Warm, quiet & very comfortable bed

Stayed for 5 nights on the top floor, room was warm, clean & had interesting structures in it, careful when needing to use the facilities at night & no light is on. There was plenty of room & hangers in the wardrobe. On the desk were a tea/coffee making set, a bottle of mineral water (fresh every day) & some glasses. The free wifi worked well. All windows could be opened fully. Great sleeping comfort, large double bed with clean, crisp sheets & a light but warm duvet. Reception & breakfast room staff were friendly & courteous, the bar staff somewhat less so. Breakfast was ok, something for everybody, nice espresso machine.

Stay Average (No AC) Breakfast Fabulous

The U.S. web site says rooms with AC may be available. When I arrived in Germany I called to inquire about whether they did have rooms with AC (I did not provide a date of arrival or name) and was told we do not have rooms with air conditioning. I then asked if they had fans available and I was told they did not. In advance I knew not to expect fans or any AC. I asked at check in if Id received nice room as a Diamond Select and was told oh yes. I was given a room facing the street and it was hot and noisy. The room was downright miserable - since I knew that the hotel had no rooms with AC I did not complain. I thought that it might be fine since the rooms were on the East side of the hotel which meant the sun had not been shining on them all afternoon. I also thought that, since I could open the windows it would be OK. I didnt know until too late that the noise coming from the street below would make sleeping impossible - you could hear all of the cars, motorcycles and tractors (yes at 2300 at night a tractor rolled past). The noise was so bad (Friday night) we finally opted to close the windows rather than put up with all the noise we could hear with the windows open. This hotel needs to provide fans for their guests who are unfortunate enough to receive street side rooms on hot nights. Our mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. There was no padding of any kind on it and it had no give or bounce - rather like a hard, firm slab. It reminded me of the mattresses you find on beds in college dorms. Interestingly there was a thin foam pad underneath the mattress - I am not sure what purpose that pad served. The mattress was so hard that every move my husband made caused the entire mattress to move. Since it was hot he seemed to move a lot, making things even more miserable for me. At check out I mentioned that the U.S. web site indicates some rooms have AC and I was told that this was true. They have five and when they are booked that is it. I can only assume that there was no better room to place us in when we checked in than a noisy room facing the street (room 207). Best Western says that Diamond Select guests will receive the best room available. Obviously all of the better rooms (those with AC and not facing the street) had already been assigned to other guests. I mentioned to the front desk clerk that I had a bad sleep due to the heat and noise and she replied Im sorry. Perfect - her saying that made all of the discomfort disappear!! Yeah right. If you stay here when it is hot, ask for a room facing the front of the hotel. In the end I did not feel like one of Best Westerns best customers. I felt like a customer that this Best Wester could care less about. The room was simply furnished - the floor was wood and clean. There was a small entry hall that had a nice large cupboard for storing luggage. There was also a small folding luggage rack in the bedroom. The bathroom was small with a small shower in the corner. It would be hard for a large person to be able to step in because of the way it opened (two doors slid apart from the corner). There was a small easy chair and a desk in the room, in addition to the bed. The only power for electronics seemed to be at the desk which had a charging block so multiple items could be plugged in at one time. They have a very nice patio dining area in front of hotel. I did not have a meal but the prices seemed to be reasonable. It was a pleasant, shady area and a respite from the other side of the hotel. Breakfast was extensive. They have a coffee machine, orange or multi vitamin juice and a wide selection of breakfast meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, breads, yogurts, jellies and cereals. They had scrambled eggs, wurstchen and crispy bacon (very salty though). The breakfast was pleasant and I would have liked more time to enjoy it. Breakfast is included in the rate but the U.S. web site has an error and says that breakfast is an extra 14. I showed this mistake to the the clerk when I checked out.

    Just one night

nice little park enough for our two dogs. Restaurant was good, breakfast was good. staff in restaurant not so friendly. Room was very hot, staff had to look for fan. But: mold in the bathroom, we couldnot get another room and did not get a compensation, dogs costs 10,00 each extra.

Pssssst... do you look for a quiet and comfortable hotel in Rhine - Main Area?

.. not far from the highway and yet very quiet ... nice room (221) ... the bath is a little bit small.. very good mattresses ... free WIFI ... 1 bottle of free water ... small but fine wellness area with jacuzzi ... small fitness center with new equipment and punching bag ... very friendly staff .. and a nice restaurant attached ... the breakfast was one of the best I have seen in recent months .. Homemade natural yoghurt ... homemade fresh fruit salad ... huge selection of cereals .. great scrambled eggs ... you can also order different egg dishes ... all there ... to have a nice stay ... thank you very much I come sure again ...
